I wouldnt underestimate the size of Tito's ego or underestimate the size of his brain.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if this falls through because Tito asks for the moon.

Tito definitely will feel like he has something to prove by this fight. I think he brought it to Machida but couldn't deal with that amount of elusiveness. Sobral will be right there to trade blows and I think this is going to be a great fight.

Tito was #1 PPV draw in the UFC so I wonder what he will bring to the Affliction numbers.

Tito is a great addition to Affliction's already stacked roster. The Ortiz vs. Sobral fight is very interesting to me. It should be a great fight. Add Fedor vs. Arlovski and Affliction is sure to have another awesome card.

What are you talkin about Morey, Tito didn't bring shit to Machida. He tried but failed. Machida brought it to him though.

Bad style match-up. I think Tito really wanted to stick it to Dana by winning but Machida was too fast and elusive. Doesn't mean he didn't bring shit, he just couldn't do shit.

Neither of these guys are good stand up fighters and Im not sure who will win on the ground. Babalu has good BJJ skills and tito has good defense and a god wrestling base. This could potentially be even more boring then the Whitehead vs Babalu fight. Tito doesnt have the fire to get in there and mix it up and babalu isnt really good enough to stand and hurt you. I would watch this fight but I am really not looking forward to it. Now if u put the young and hungry tito in from the 90's then i would love to see babalu get his ass beat:) Machida is a bitch. Nobody wants to see a guy run away punch and run again. Chuck will fucking wipe the floor with Machida b/c chuck knows how to cut the ring off something tito hasnt heard of obviously.

I hope they don't pay Ortiz the crazy money for a short appearance as Babalu will bury him.

Ortiz will be out of his ellement as he likes to use the cage to push his opponents up against and ground & bound until they tap. Affliction doesn't have the cage and Ortiz will struggle to adapt.

I hope the fight goes three rounds so Babalu can lay a HUGE punishment on Ortiz.

I dont understand why this is such a big deal, these guys are NOW both second tier fighters, tito just wants to cas ha few more big checks, dont really care who wins.

i disagree there both still tuff fighters babalu more so tito is probally just out of the top ten range and babalu closer if not in the top 10

I don't think Machida is a bitch. I didn't really think he ran either. He side-stepped a lot of tito's punches (or almost all), but Tito should have been able to get him close to the cage and use it to his advantage. I definately agree that Tito was an awesome fighter in his prime, but I don't think he has it like he used to. I think Tito In the 90's and early 2000's could have taken him down and pounded or submitted his way to a victory.

think of tito as the mma version of Tyson. Not as hardcore as tyson of course but they were both they both were very hungry and looked like monsters until the were knocked out. They both lost their edges.

yeah…tito has never been KO'd…TKO'd a few times though

    July 31, 2008 at 10:07 pm

come to think of it .i think the only person to TKO ortiz was liddell.twice…anyways..either way it goes UFC re-sign or Affliction will be a smart move. The UFC probably doesn't like the idea of tito signing with aflliction, therefore they may offer him another contract…for marketing purposes only.I just don't think tito has the desire to be the best.I don't think he can compete with the top LHW competition. But he puts butts in the seats. It is the most sought after belt in the organization.wandy,chuck,forrest,rua,rampage(pre-mental breakdown)rich franklin moving back up,vera moving down…these are all world class guys…granted wandy and forrest both lost to tito, but i don't see that happening again..then you have guys like machida and thiago silva(who will beat machida imo) who are hungry..and you have Jardine as the gatekeeper..I don't think Tito could beat any of these guys.

i dont think that Tito would sign with UFC even if contract offered inspite of Dana. Plus like you said Pat he is not at the top of his game and Affliction would probably fit him at the level he's on better.

    August 1, 2008 at 5:40 am

i agree naco..i'm just going by the rumor mill here with the whole UFC re-sign..personally i don't think they'll re-sign him either. But there is a lot of reports out there that he may.like i said though.if they do,it's only for marketing purposes only.tito fans are some of the most loyal, and tito haters love to see him get his ass beat.people pay to see him either way….i hear affliction is trying to low ball the fighters on their pay?any news on this?

I dont know why people say they dont like tito at all he was a great fighter and held the belt for a long time. Tito also made the ufc what it is today with out him it might not have had the same outcome.
