    Fedor haters – ha!

pfp number #1 heavy weight in the world. arlovski looked great.

dana, let it go give America the fight we all want (Randy- Fedor)

  3. Businessman

Fedor is definitely, by far, the best Heavyweight but Da Spider didn't hurt the argument by his performance, to say that he is the best pound for pound fighter. He looked great as well. If you compare the sitautions, you have Fedor taking on an over-rated and slow opponent vs. Da Spider taking on a tough, heavier fighter. Tim won alot of his fights against guys that should not have been in the UFC. Other than Ricco and Arvloski, he has not beat anyone that is in the top 20 at the time. And he is lucky that Arvloski had some issues at the time or her would have crushed him 3 times. Tonight, and against Randy and Minotauro….that showed that Sylvia is a good but not great fighter. Had he been in Pride all those years, he would have been lucky to have been a .500 fighter. GO SPIDER!!! GO FEDOR!!!

Businessman – I agree 100% and have been saying so all along….

Who would you say was more impressive tonigh, Fedor or Anderson Silva? Both fighters really blew me away. After watching Fedor I didn't think that could be beat until I saw Anderson. Great night of fights overall.

Both looked great but I think Silva overcame of harder challenge with Irvin vs Fedor with Sylvia. Sylvia is overrated… ex champ or not. Irvin is a huge prospect with records for fastest KOs and has tons of talent and Silva made him look talentless. 1 punch! That's all it took, he was pretty much done after that but Silva kept at him until the ref stopped it. Did you see Irvin's cheek? lol

  7. Kash

    July 19, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Fedor is the man. I thought he would win but not in that way. I've never seen anyone manhandle Tim like that before. I can't wait to see his fight with Couture. Fedor impressed me the most tonight. Although its hard to call since Silva caught Irvins best leg kick and put him out with one punch.

    July 19, 2008 at 4:41 pm

so are they setting up a silva vs gsp fight? i hope so. fedor looked good but against a washed up fighter. next we'll see tim sylvia on elitexc. anderson silva looked amazing with that 1 punch knockout. i think silva was more impressive

  9. Kash

    July 19, 2008 at 4:44 pm

I think GSP will fight BJ Penn first.

  10. Oswald Gobblecock

    July 19, 2008 at 5:02 pm

Dude, I don't think they really planned on GSP fighting Silva anytome soon. Since Silva moved up and BJ wants GSP.

i disagree with businessman and nichole fedor destroyed a highly ranked fighter like no one else has and spider desrtoyed a dangerous but unranked fighter whos has beaten no one worth mentioning, i wouldn't agrue the p4p best fighter yet spdier looked great but don't try and take any what fedor did.

  12. dane drebin

    July 19, 2008 at 9:30 pm

i think fedor beating tim sylvia a top 5 ranked heavyweight who is a boring but very good and talented fighter means a lot more than silva beating a not even top ten irvin. and i love irvina nd wanted him to win and i hate tim sylvia but im sorry thats just common sense

All these fights ended the way I had hoped they would. WOOT. I'm glad Sylvia got what he got. I agree with businessman, he is completely over rated

  14. Scooby Doo

    July 20, 2008 at 2:20 am

Fedor looked good took Sylvia out with pure power. Manhandle him with ease, and quick strikes. Thhhee ssSSSsspppiiiddddeerrrr (Baby)just was to quick and accurate with his strikes. Randy has no chance against FEDOR. UNLESS I seen a chink in his amor last night. he ducks under fedors left and comes with and over hand right then uppercut with the left Randy has to gain a little more sppeeddd in his trainning. Sylvia was just too big to duck.

    July 20, 2008 at 4:42 am

Fedor vs Couture is an exciting idea but a bad matchup for Randy. Fedor faster, younger, stronger better standup and subs. Fedor has had his more impressive victories over wrestlers. His super sambo/judo throws are hard to prepare for. Randys best chance is to get Fedor down and cut him with elbows. He needs him in a cage not a ring. That being said, I would love to see the fight. I think Fedor vs Barnett is the fight that would be the toughest test for Fedor.

  16. Biggil

    July 20, 2008 at 4:50 am

Fador the great! He destroyed his oppanant like he was suppose to. Sylvia over rated and put in submission in 37 seconds. Competion or not Fador did what he was suppose to. Who's next? I dont see no contender in mma, but i would like to see him go threw all competetors.

  17. Marko

    July 20, 2008 at 5:25 am

Fedor allready beated far better fighters then Barnett, so i dont think it would be some chellenge to him. American fans are less informed about pride fighting championships, but i tell you gays, UFC is a childs play for PRIDE when we talk about spectacle, and quality of fighters. Anderson Silva was not that dominant in pride as he is in ufc and he become champ soon as he came to ufc. Same case for Rampage and Minotaur. Believe me, competition was much stronger in pride then in ufc in every weight class.

  18. kom34

    July 20, 2008 at 5:37 am

I'm so glad that arlovski bashed rothwell. i have seen rothwell in interviews saying that ufc heavyweights were not that good. now he faced one and get it handed to him. fedor was unbelievable. uppercut from a tai clinch that was nice. i think silva has always been a good fighter but he is in his prime right now and maybe wasn't when he was in PRIDE. can't wait to see who he fights next.

  19. kom34

    July 20, 2008 at 5:43 am

oh yeah, after the fight fedor seemed happier than i have ever seen him. i think he even outdid his expectations. to do away with a three time UFC champ in under a minute…wow.

  20. Alex

    July 20, 2008 at 5:53 am

Two fighters had some classics with Fedor and that Nogiera and Arona. I would like to see Fedor fight Barnett or Arona again.

  21. Nate Fury

Fedor vs. Couture is a must!

Arlovski vs. Barnett for the chance to fight Fedor for the title.

    Fedor might take Randy out

  25. roy

    July 20, 2008 at 11:51 am

i would love to see fedor vs randy but i think the better fights are fedor vs barnett or fedor vs aa hopefully at some point we will get to see all of these, as far as tim he is a highly ranked hw for a reason i never liked him but he real isn't overrated he beaten good fighters and only lost to the best but never like that and i am sure he will prove it there is still some match ups for him you can take all the hw's form this card accept maybe rizzo and mix and match them for a couple more great cards.

  26. derek

    July 20, 2008 at 2:55 pm

the thing with tim sylvia is people just dislike him. don't get me wrong. tim somehow beat a lot of big names in the UFC, but he is just not a crowd pleaser. i think everyone secretly wished that tim would get beat down. but since nobody did it to him in the ufc, including randy couture, people thoght that they could not do it to tim. and then fedor came along… and wow. 36 seconds.

  27. steve

    July 20, 2008 at 3:34 pm

laugh at everyone who said that we were counting tim out. I told you guys that Tim couldnt handle his hands. Those are my exact words. Guess what he couldnt;) Fedor is without a doubt the #1 fighter of all time. He would smash randy guys. Randy is a great gameplan guy. He is not the most athletic doesnt have an iron chin or a good record. But he has fought the best and beaten sopme of them. But with Fedor randy really wont be able to do anything to him. He cant stand with him and when it goes to the ground he will get caught in a submission. I love randy but fedor is on another level. And he alone sits there. Above all. Now who was it that said he was just a LHW that hasnt fought any competition? That dude is a real moron. A.Silva surprised me with how easily he walked through Irvin. Irvin is not on the same level as any top LHW but he still hits hard and is not a complete pushover unless of course he is fighting A.Silva LOL. But I still dont see how in anyones right mind they would say that Silva beating Irvin is bigger than Fedor smashing Sylvia. It is not even close. Fedor just beat a guy who should be the UFC champ atm but Nog pulled it out. He beaty the shit out of him and then got tapped. Irvin has never even been close to a title shot. Not even close to top 10. Overall this sets up a big blockbuster fight for A.Silva and for Fedor. Which both of them are at their peeks as far as skill and will hopefully fight more then twice a year. I know fedor plans on fighting 2 more times this year but im not sure about Silva. Hope he fights okami gets that over with and fights a superstar at 205 at the superbowl weekend:)

  28. dane drebin

    July 20, 2008 at 3:45 pm

for once i agree with steve… mostly. i thought fedor would win but never did i think he would win that fast. it really showed fedor is still the man and i agree that i think he would beat randy. i think randy would put up a better fight but i dont see randy having the tools to beat fedor. that being said i would still most definetly root for randy and pray he wins. i never thought i would see so many people on here trying to discredit fedors win tho by saying tim is so over rated and stuff. he's huge, is a multiple time world champion and has beaten some of the best. give the man his due. people like to say he's over rated because they dont like his style, think he's and asshole, like to hate on the "big" bully or all of the above. i dont like him as a person but i am smart enough to realize that he has talent and is a lot bigger of notch under your belt than a james irvin who is not even in the 205 top ten. oh and steve im pretty sure i saw on sherdog that okami has a broken hand and it looks like cote is gunna be anderson's next opponent. i like that stand up war a lot better anyways but i think anderson will dominate once again.

  29. steve

    July 20, 2008 at 6:48 pm

damn cote is gonna get tore apart if that fight does happen.

  30. Businessman

    July 21, 2008 at 12:01 am

Everyone is making great points. I don't see anyone beating Anderson or Fedor anytime soon. They are just complete fighters in every aspect of the game. From stand-up, to grappling, wrestling…they are incredible. Sometimes it is all about a match-up, versus who is better or more exciting. For Fedor, Arvloski or Josh are really the only ones that have a shot a beating him. I don't see Randy beating him. Fedor is to big and strong. Even if Randy took him down, I could see Fedor sweeping him. The thing with Fedor is that he is not this physical specimen but he is so strong and QUICK…you don't even expect it. For Anderson, I don't see anyone that could touch him right now. He is having some kind of run. None of his matches in the UFC have made it to Round 3!!! He has submitted or knocked everyone out. I thought Nate or Hendo would really push him and he walked all over him. Matt Lindland did not look good at all. Even if he came to the UFC, Anderson would crush him. The only one out there, that I think could give him a battle is Paulo Filho. It may be premature, but Damian Maia looks good to. He needs to improve his standup. The only guy I could ever see beating Anderson is going to be an incredibly strong wrestler that could take him down, pass his guard and pound and ground and ground him or a BJJ expert that could submit him, other than that, no one stands a chance. He is by far the best striker MMA has ever seen. Maybe Koz should come up in weight and take a shot at Anderson. The Welterweight Division is stacked and while he will win a lot of fights, there is to much competition for him to ever be the champ. With GSP, Fitch (his friend and training partner), Alves, etc, I think he should consider going up to 185.

  31. Steveo

    July 21, 2008 at 3:25 am

I will be honest, I thought fedor was going to win, but at least after a round or two. The guy looks like he should be filling soda machines ot teaching high school math not kiling people. Hands down best heavy out there. I also agree that he would prolly beat randy fairly easily. The only thing randy had on sylvia was speed and fedor obviously has that by the boat load. And I dont think arlovski has a chance either, the man is an animal. And I think we all just figured out how not to use a leg a la james irvin. Silva didnt even look like he as trying. Neither Fedor or Silva will lose anytime soon.

  32. roy

    July 21, 2008 at 3:43 am

that i agree with businessman no mw is going to beat a silva dan henderson had the best chance and could not do it, a rematch would be nice and i think dan could do better but still not win, i only see one of the top lhw's beating him and even that may be hard.

  33. Fedor Emelianenko DV

    July 21, 2008 at 7:16 am

Fedor's the best and wins the most dominant performance of the night. Also, glad to see Vitor Belfort back in his winning ways.

  34. michael

    July 21, 2008 at 12:34 pm

The best in the world…Pound for Pound along with the "spider " Silva, although it is hard to call who's the best..but "personally" Fedor is my favorite MMA fighter.

  35. michael

    July 21, 2008 at 1:04 pm

I hope the HW pool talent gets deeper like the LHW pool in the UFC. I love to Fedor fight high-ranking HW fighters….(respect for sylvia for fighting the best though he is not luck enough)

  36. kelv708

    July 21, 2008 at 8:28 pm

It is very difficult to catch Fedor, Nogueira couldn't do it 3 times. Randy Couture might have a 5% chance if he can get him cut or maybe go thru 5 rounds of torturing(needs tremendous stamina from 32yo and a 46 yo) and get a decision like Rampage vs Griffin. Or the Russian Mafia suddenly kidnapped Fedor's wife and daughter and threaten him to take a fall becas the odds is going to be high and there is money to be made??

Other than that, I think "The Natural" needs to be a bit supernatural and perform some sort of miracle for the victory.

Even if Fedor was victorious, I think some people would still deny by saying the age difference and other excuses. Truth is, He is the best I have seen and people should look at the fighter not where he is from or whether he got some fat padding on him or not. The guy is so tough even other pro fighters attend his master class around Europe to learn MMA and Sambo. Thats commitment and love for the sport for yah. One more thing Fedor dominates his weight class in any organization he is in, so other HW will move weight class or go to other organization to get a championship belt on their waist. They know they got no chance of the belt if Fedor is there. Now he just signed with Affliction in the US and everyone wants to fight the best but after a while, you'll see. THe Maniac got it bad and soon many HW fighters will feel the same like Tim Silvia. Shameful to lost 6 months of training in just 36 seconds.People say he needs to be tested?? Who would wanna go test it out?You or Randy Couture or maybe Brock Lesnar, Kimbo?? Jaker Obrien? Gonzaga? Werdum? or Current UFC HW champ Nog?? I know put him in a cage with three big starving polar bears, maybe that will give Fedor a test. No one wants to be a loser and when you are uin a winning streak you stay away from Fedor cas if you cross path with him you will end up in the loser section. Nuff said.

  37. Nate Fury

    July 25, 2008 at 5:47 am

Fedor vs. Arlovski to headline the next Affliction card will be sick. I like this fight! Couture should be cleared to fight by then to, so I would like to see him fight on this card as well. Maybe against Pedro Rizzo, who has a win over Couture. Another fight would be Sylvia vs. Barnett. Also, Rothwell vs. Buentello.

  38. Nate Fury

    July 25, 2008 at 5:48 am

    Sorry Couture beat Rizzo twice.

  39. Nate Fury

    July 25, 2008 at 5:50 am

Maybe Couture vs. Barnett would be better. Tough fight for Couture though. Sylvia vs. Buentello. Rothwell vs. Rizzo.

  40. roy

    July 25, 2008 at 6:01 am

barnett beat the crap out of coulture already the two fights with rizzo and randy where wars, i think at this point randy only wants one more fight and although he will lose it might as well be against the best, fedor.
