Affliction “Day of Reckoning”, Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett Official

Affliction has released information on is second show dubbed “Day of Reckoning” which will feature former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski taking on Josh Barnett on Oct. 11 from the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas, NV.

Arlovski was expected to take on top heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko on the card, but a hand injury suffered during his win over Tim Sylvia at “Affliction Banned” will keep him off the October card.

Both fighters tallied up wins at “Affliction Banned”. Arlovski defeated the IFL champion “Big” Ben Rothwell by KO in the third round.

Barnett avenged his first loss in the UFC by defeating Pedro Rizzo by KO in the second round.

of course we all want fedor but this is a great fight, i have been waiting for barnett vs fedor for a long time and i think he will win this fight and get next shot at fedor.and hopefully down the road we will still get aa vs fedor.

Great news. This should be a great fight. Barnett is a very underrated fighter. He should be able to get this fight to the ground and win but AA has such an arsenal of stand up anything could happen. Winner gets Fedor. I agree with roy as I to have been waiting a long time for Fedor vs Barnett and this fight could make that happen.

After Tim Silvia Fedor looked unbeatable. Barnett seems so confident in his ability I know that he would love to test himself against Fedor. I can't wait to see it! Why in the world would the UFC not want to sign a fighter like Barnett?

Arlovski is going to TKO Barnett. The Pittbull is on a tear and Barnett will not stop him. Barnett is good, but this is Arlovski's fight. When Fedor heals he will fight Couture, who will be able to fight by then im sure.

tom thats just stupid, sherk took roids and he is still in the ufc and so have alot of other fighters, barnett argued his test as well so he is right there with sherk and has not ever tested dirty again. also barnett proves he is the #2-3 hw in the world again by beating aa.the only reason he is not in the ufc is dana has a problem with him.

tom i was just asking a question. i was not sure of his history with roids or the ufc. he seems to be one of the top heavy-weights and i knew he fought in the ufc before but i was not sure about why he left. i've watched several of his pride fights and he is a great fighter. i can't wait for the next affliction show.

(by the way, my son does have a mental handi-cap, the comment was a bit offensive)

i apollogize t.r. for using that word and you can tell by tom's writing that he has a mental handicap as well, barnett was the youngest ufc champ ever beating the sh*t out of randy coulture he tested pos. for roids i don't remember the whole story he did not deny that he had tried them earlier in his life and the type was one that supposedly showed up in your system for along time even after stopping them he has never tested dirty again alot of fighters have tested pos. and been brought back the truth is he had a falling out with dana and thats why you don't see him in the ufc.

No problem at all roy. I just became a fan of mma a few years ago and i can't get enough of it but I'm still not sure of the history with a lot of the fighters. I think that it is the greatest sport on the planet.

Ryan S why do u and other people feel u need to comment not about the topic but to make fun of what someone spelled wrong? Anyways this is not going to be enough to draw me into spending another 45 bucks. I will just watch the videos on internet and order the UFC event which you know will have a couple good fights on it to cancel out affliction.

the ufc event is free that month and this card will be better than the first affliction card and it's only 39.99 so if you love mma you will watch it.

    August 5, 2008 at 1:32 pm

Why do we have to call people retarded? Why can't we just comment on how we feel about the article? If you're going to start attacking people, don't get upset if they strike back. ANYWAY, ROY, which UFC event is going on that month? I think the only event UFC has that month is like a week before or after. Either way, I don't think it's going to be as good.
