Affliction Postpones Oct. 11 “Day of Reckoning” Show In Las Vegas

Affliction MMA has postponed it latest show scheduled for Oct. 11 from the Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

According to Sherdog, the October show has been postponed until January 17th and is expected to now take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. A formal explanation is expected from Affliction later in the day.

The show was to be headlined by former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and PRIDE heavyweight veteran Josh Barnett.

Affliction VP Tom Atencio states the UFC has been interfering with the promotions ability to market the event in Las Vegas:

“They’ve been messing with me every step of the way….There have been issues that I’ve been dealing with. So I can’t say it’s them, but there’s been things we’ve been dealing with that have never happened before, so I guess that’s why.”

MMA Rated is reporting that ticket sales were lacking for the October event.

tickets sells have been quite poor. We’ve heard that as low as 700 tickets had been been sold for the event. For ring events, the Thomas & Mack Center can hold up up to 19, 522 spectators.
