Alan Belcher: Will He Be Giving Anderson Silva’s Defeat?Since his victory over Chael Sonnen at UFC 148, many are awaiting for the next opponent of Anderson Silva. Several fighters are interested in taking their shot against Silva who proved to be a good opponent for every UFC fighter. After dominating against Mark Munoz, Chris Weidman immediately declared his intentions of fighting against Silva. Another MMA fighter to be expected fighting against Silva is Rich Franklin.

Who Will Be the Next for Silva?

Although numerous reports have pointed to fighters to challenge Silva, after his second bout with Sonnen, everything went low.  Another person who wants to test the waters against Silva is Alan Belcher. Many would agree to this aspiring champion. During his last 7 fights inside the Octagon, only one became his waterloo. This was even a fight that many fans thought Belcher won against. Nonetheless, he was defeated by Yoshihiro Akiyama via split decision in UFC 100. Since then, he persistently won over several MMA fighters like Rousimar Palhares, Patrick Cote, Wilson Gouveia, and Jason MacDonald. Only Cote persisted until the second round while the other 3 fighters did not even make it. Palhares was his latest opponent.

Will Belcher Be the Next to Fight Silva?

Belcher has expressed his interests in this matter but still, he leaves the decision to UFC. At UFC 149, there is Hector Lombard and Tim Boestch while in September, Michael Bisping will be fighting against Brian Stann. These fights will all offer good opponents for Silva. The final decision will then be UFC’s. This is the challenging part since the next opponent needs to win against the known pound-for-pound fighter in the planet. Nobody can still say who will be the next opponent or the suitable challenger for Silva. What makes it very heightened is the fact that Silva is the toughest opponent today inside the Octagon.

The onlt decision UFC has to make is what will bring in the most PPV. It’s all about money with the dictator regardless of who would be a good fight for silva, it all boils down to money so don’t expect the best fighter to fight silva expect the best draw for PPV.
