Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson On Tap For EliteXC “Heat” On Oct. 4

Just as we hear the news of Andrei Arlovski’s headlining debut for Affliction 2 “Day of Reckoning” has been indefinitely postponed. Sherdog is reporting that Andrei Arlovski and IFL’s Roy Nelson (13-2) have been offered a fight at the upcoming EliteXC “Heat” slated for Oct. 4th.

Arlovski’s management team would not comment Wednesday on the proposed bout, while Nelson’s attorney, Rod Donohoo, also refrained from remarks. However, has learned from separate sources that both fighters have agreed in principle to the match and that contracts have been issued for review.

The fight might not be such a bad thing for Affliction. Arlovski would get some network television exposure, making him a bigger draw if Affliction ever decides to puts together a show.

Also, he should make quick work of Roy Nelson who lost to Arlovski’s last opponent Ben Rothwell back in his IFL days.

The fight has been confirmed By EliteXC’s Jeremy Lappen:

“This is yet another testament to EliteXC’s willingness to work with other MMA promotions to bring the best possible fights to the broadest possible audience. Special thanks to the hard working team at Affliction and of course our partners at CBS and Showtime.”

If affliction wants to get on top of things then they need to schedule a show and pull it off without delays. Their fighters are expecting paychecks and when a show is cancelled who can blame them for fighting in another show. If they lose arloski and fedor for the Jan. show it will suck!

they will both be on the next show for sure, if there is one.i don't mind aa taking this fight to hold him over till jan. it should be a win for him although i do think roy is pretty tough andre should be far beyond his level.

Affliction would be fine with Arlovski getting more exposure on CBS before his fight on Affliction 2.

The card was already gonna be better then half the UFN shows the ufc puts on spike but now with Arlovski vs Nelson it is looking pretty decent. I hope kimbo, arlovski and Radach win.
