Pride FC without FEDOR (14-0 in PRIDE)!
January 15, 2010 at 8:06 am
If you are going to show the best of Pride then you have to include Fedor. Quit being a fucking baby Dana….you act like a two year old.
January 15, 2010 at 8:58 am
Fedor should NOT be included! Why give the D*ck free advertising and promotion if he cant get the nutts to sign to the greatest fight promotion in the world (UFC) Noone gives a shit that he beat on many less talented people over in pride. Atleast hes over in Strikeforce learning how to fight in an octagon! Everyone has seen what happens to PRIDE GP fighters when the come to the UFC. FEDOR IS AWESOME YES, but M1 Global only choses apponents on their way down! I hope the UFC baits him in while Brocks gone, and then WOOPS surpprise, BROCKS BACK!!!!

Typical ignorant 'UFC only' fan, NY KING. Anyone not fighting in the UFC is scared to. I am sure that it had nothing to do with the Angry Aerobics Instructor not being able to negotiate a contract that Fedor wanted. Do you know how many former UFC champs Fedor has beaten? Have you seen what happened to Anderson Silva when he went to Japan? Did you see what happened to Chuck Liddell during his prime when he tried to fight in Japan? That's what I thought, shut your pie hole! The sheer fact that you think Fedor is afraid to fight a guy who is 4-1 in his illustrious career in MMA shows that you know nothing about the sport. Nobody is suggesting that UFC isn't the deepest organization in MMA but it clearly does not have ALL of the best fighters in the world. It's a business but people like you try to simplify the Fedor situation to fit into your shallow sense of reality.

I liked both UFC and Pride and I agree Fedor should not be on the show. Why give that guy any advertising? Plus UFC owns Pride it would be dumb to show any Fedor fights.
January 15, 2010 at 10:08 am
Agreed. It would only boost their rival League.
Luckily Pride had such a huge number of fighters that there are a great number of exciting matches to be seen again. Including many MMA greats that are now far past their prime.

I could agree with the fact that it might help advertise your rivals fighters but the bottom line is that without Fedor it isn't REALLY the "Best of Pride", right? That is the problem with the UFC – they are the only promotion who doesn't have a real interest in putting together the best fights, regardless of where they are from. They are all about business which is hard to bitch about because that is just a fact of life and they are successful doing it. Unfortunately, the fans suffer a little bit without the hope of cross promotions. The UFC heavyweight division is a perfect example of what happens when you isolate your fighters from the rest of the world. Now that Lesnar is gone – it lacks fighters with any type of main event-like potential (and that is not to say that I don't like any of them – they just lack star power at the moment).

Do you think they will show Ryo Chonan's highlight reel submission of Anderson Silva at Pride Shockwave? I seriously doubt it – another example of how the UFC is losing their integrity. I won't even start in on the Griffin/Silva fiasco. Dana knows that Silva is the closest thing he has to a Fedor and he won't let his mystique get damaged.

is anyone else pissed that this was only a 60 minute episode with commercials. i feel ripped off if your going to do it do it right make it worth it
so many good pride fights they could make it a day long marathon instead of showing 10 hours of CSI re-runs each day and all the other crap they show for filler
fuck i am mad
January 15, 2010 at 4:32 pm
the ufc filtered it for sure. best of pride without fedor is not right.
January 15, 2010 at 5:06 pm
I don't even care for fedor much but the guy had some great fights and i realize its a marketing thing but it would be like having the best of the ufc without couture or liddell.
January 15, 2010 at 7:45 pm
this dave guy makes me laugh. all he dose is get tough online. its no big deal brother. fedor is great but as a business man you would not promote coke when you are a pepsi rep right. i agree it would be better with him, but you dont help the comp. and i think the liddell and silva thing was not a good point because the lhw or known there as the middle weight dev. had alot better fighters than the hw. dev. even though they had cro cop and fedor. thats all there heavy weight dev. had.

14-0 in pride and fedor is overrated ?hmhmhm really makes yu think hmhm………
January 16, 2010 at 2:20 am
The show was a lot different then I thought. It was more a "Ultimate KO" show, featuring fighters that are expected on upcoming UFC cards.
"Best of Pride" was a little misleading, but I liked it.
One thing for sure, its good to see the UFC using some of that $65MIL footage they purchased from Dream Stage Entertainment.
January 16, 2010 at 2:22 am
Shouldn't the UFC be sued for false advertising? I mean when you say you're showing "the best", then shouldn't you do so? Won't be watching this, if I want to see PRIDE I'll watch it on Youtube or something else so as not to give the UFC the ratings they don't deserve.
January 16, 2010 at 3:07 am
Josh, you are completely missing the point, but I am glad that I can make you laugh. The point is that everyone thinks that the UFC is so great for MMA as a sport. The reality is that it once was, but now it's becoming more of a hinderance on it's growth. All Dana and Zuffa do is tear down and try to monopolize the sport.
Anderson Silva was 3-2 in Pride but they showed him beat Carlos Newton???A guy who struggled to maintain just a .500 record throughout his career and had one big win? Pride was such a great promotion until Zuffa came along and purchased it just so that they could shut it down. Not good for the sport. Competition benefits the fans, without it we end up paying 60 bucks to watch sh*tty cards like UFC 108. Don King and Bob Arum are geniuses of business but we stopped praising them too after a while when it became obvious that they were ruining boxing. I watched the downfall of boxing and I see it with MMA thanks to Zuffa, and it is frusterating to see goofball Spike watching "UFC only fans" talk like Dana White can do no wrong. Dana White and the UFC are about as transparent and pathetic with their politics as anyone I have ever seen, and it's a shame to see them get away with it.
