BJ Penn Shuts Down UFC 94 Primetime In Protest

UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn has apparently shut down taping of UFC 94 Primetime “St-Pierre vs. Penn II” after having conflict about the way he is portrayed on the first episode.

B.J. Penn recently shut down a taping and interview session for the series and no longer wants involved in the project.

Penn was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in last week’s debut of the series, which hypes a Jan. 31 UFC 94 main event fight between the Hawaiian fighter and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. [MMAJunkie]

The glorified $2 million UFC countdown show debuted with record ratings last week on Spike TV. The second show airs tonight at 10pm EST on SpikeTV.

BJ Penn will take on Georges St-Pierre at UFC 94 “St. Pierre vs. Penn II” on January 31 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

havent been watching them. Its probaly making him look lazy while GSP is looking like a man on a mision. Seriously you can see just how much harder GSP trains than BJ by just how in shape Georges always is. BJ never comes to weigh ins looking like he went all out in training.

ya it basically says bj was born rich and shows him lounging in the waters of hawaii and on vacation when he should be training while george grew up poor and is training his ass off. they might have twisted it a little bit but i dont see it being too far from the truth i hope bj took his training seriously otherwise he would be screwing all the fans.

well the way i see it BJ is act like the way i see hawaiians are and that is "laid back" i dont think he need to train as hard as GSP and that is why they call him the "Prodigy" because hes pure talent but i also think that if he train as hard as GSP or put as much time as GSP trains he'd probably be the Welter Weight Champion plus i also think that people shouldn't judge him on how wealthy his familly is because he used what he had very well and got what he wanted with it.

BJ is an arrogant ass and the funniest part is that it's that arrogance that always comes back to bite him on the butt. Poor BJ says he got ripped off in the first GSP fight. Hey BJ watch the tape, you won the first round and spent the rest of the fight getting thrown on your back, GSP adapted and overcame. I think Primetime is just a mirror and BJ doesnt like what he sees in it.

My predictions for this fight is the following. This is going to be another win for GSP. I like both fighters, but i think BJPENN is going to lose this one. GSP is a better fighter now than he once was. He has that edge about him. He even carries himself differently now. You can see he has that hunger in his eyes. I would like to see BJ fight Matt Hughes next, so he could avenge his loss.

Alvan Dal: ever wonder if BJ was thinking during the first fight, " I'm being robbed!" while he was pressing his thumb in GSP's eye? He's arrogant alright. I hope GSP smashes him.

    GSP sucks, BJ PENN RULES

  8. BJ Penn 4 life..

GSP is going down in the first.. the robbery of the first fight is going to fuel the determination in BJ Penn's game plan.. And c'mon just because GSP took him down couple of times doesn't mean he is a better fighter, he dealt no damage whatsoever to BJ penn at all in that position.. BjPenn almost got him at the end too, and shiiiit, u see his flexibility? Thats what sets him apart.. cause people will always use how ripped a person is as a visual advantage they never see the hidden trademarks of a 'true' prodigy.. What makes him a great fighter is that he visually under-promises but over delivers… BJ PENN WILL WIN… I'am all in!

Now, I am definitely not a fan on BJ Penn, but will acknowledge the sick skills this guy has. I am sure the TV played it up more but from what I have seen in the past, he comes off as arrogant. there is a difference between Arrogant and Confident…BJ Penn seems to follow the first one. I will definitely not deny his fighting skills as they speak loudly and his record. As a person, I think he is too into himself.

As for GSP, I am a fan, but he too did not focus as much as he should have early in his career. Now some of that was from personal issues, which I don't profess to know but I think he lacked focus at the start as well. But over the past few fights…he has the focus, he is Confident (not Arrogant).

Arrogance leads to blindspots Penn, be careful or you may have to find a different way to cement your legacy than through GSP.

Bj has the skill to defeat his apponent mentally and physically He is cocky because he is himself. The man you love to hate. GSP is the humble confident gentle man in himself. The man you hate to love. No matter who you are change is coming! No TV Media will predict that! Ever!

the problem was they show bj talking but don't show the questioned they asked him, so it looks like he is talking shit or saying crazy things but it was the question thet led him there not just him ranting saying i am going to kill gsp.

true enough, as I said above, TV built it up but Penn has not stepped back from those comments in subsequent interviews. So it is what it is.

It will be put up or shut up this weekend. This should be a sick fight!

Penn was lucky to get a split decision the first fight w/GSP. Victory probability for their 2nd fight: GSP 60%, Penn 40%

I agree i just watch the fight on Spike TV last night and i must say i was impressed with both men but i was more impressed with how easily GSP took Penn down and when he had to fight for it he took him down hard and slammed him, that was only a 3 round fight so this one may be different but the edge must go to GSP, that man has only gotten better and no disrespect to BJ but it seems like he is just a punk ass his comments about after BJ beats him to go home lay down for 20-30min and go F**k yourself was uncalled for and just shows how low class he really is in the respect catagory. I understand its talk and crap but still show some respect… I hope GSP kills him….literally walks right through him…

Well, I guess BJ Penn is now licking his wounds and feeling sorry for the absolute domination and destruction he faced at the hands of a superior man. Guess he has some words to go with that cack he choking on.
