Anyone who has watched the WWE within the past five years will automatically know the name of Brock Lesnar. He was a big, powerful wrestler fresh from finishing his college wrestling career at the University of Minnesota as the NCAA heavyweight champion. Even in the fake fighting, you could see tremendous speed and power for a big man (6â“‚¬“„¢5â“‚¬Â and 285 lbs).
He left the WWE a few years ago to get back into competition again and tried out for the Minnesota Vikings as a linebacker. It didnâ“‚¬“„¢t work out and now he wants to go back to his talent of wrestling. This time he is attempting to fight MMA. Recently, he reached a settlement agreement with the WWE, allowing him to be freed of his contractâ“‚¬“„¢s non-compete clause.
So how serious is Brock Lesnar in competing in MMA? He has already been training with Team Miletich along side great fighters like Matt Hughes the UFC Middleweight Champion. His first fight will reportedly occur September 1st against Naoya Agawa for a show in Japan. Weâ“‚¬“„¢ll see where he signs, K-1 or the UFC, but its sure to be interesting to see if he can adapt his game to compete in MMA.
