Carlos Condit Steps Aside, GSP vs. Nick Diaz Likely For Superbowl Weekend

nick diaz win 137

Don’t be scared homie: After Nick Diaz’s impressive win over BJ Penn at UFC 137 on Saturday night. Nick Diaz had some critical worlds for champion Georges St. Pierre.

“I don’t think Georges is hurt, I think he’s scared,”

Apparently Carlos Condit wants to see that fight too. The number one contender has agreed to step aside and let that fight happen.

“If you haven’t heard Carlos Condit has agreed to step aside and to let GSP fight Diaz! GSP flipped out after what Diaz said and wants him next” said Dana White at the post fight press conference.

The planned fight is expected to take place as the main event of the UFC annual Super Bowl weekend card in Las Vegas.

Ever since GSP lost his title to Matt Serra he's played it safe. He's out for points now and that makes him a boring fighter. If anyone can actually get him to fight it's Diaz with all of his taunts and his strange style. Diaz better work on his takedown defense for the next three months or else it's going to be a lay n pray win for GSP.

You guys are ridiculous.  GSP's has fought the best fighters at WW and made them look like amateurs (Shields, Koscheck, Fitch, Penn, Alves, among others).  Plus, these guys IMO were all in their prime too when he fought them.  You should be complaining about them being boring for having no way to compete with him.  Like the Shields fight, all he did was paw at him like a fuckin girl.  He shouldn't even be allowed in the same cage as GSP.  Yet still people blame GSP because it was boring.  Face the damn facts, he's a dominant fighter and I hope he finishes Diaz just to shut up all you haters.

He did beat all of those guys in their prime and he's a great, dominant fighter. But you name the fighters also name how he beat them. With the exception of Penn all of those guys were finished by decisions. And he didn't finish Penn either, Penn quit in the corner before the final round.

He's a great fighter but look at the Sherdog profile and you will see there is a point where he was finishing everyone and in the past six or so fights he has gone to a decision. This from like you said a dominant fighter which GSP absolutely is.

The Hardy fight is a pass because he could have finished that fight by
breaking Hardy's arm but he chose not to arch his hips into the armbar
            like he could have.

I don't think he takes the chances that he used to especially after losing at the last second to a Matt Hughes armbar or getting KO'd by Matt Sera, a guy who he never thought would stand a chance against him. You can't tell us he is the same fighter that he used to be before he learned the tough lesson that any fighter can lose in a split second.

Caesar Gracie said that GSP was jumping off the cage and running yesterday when he was supposedly too injured to train. I don't know what to think about that. I just hope it's a good fight in February.

Why should Condit step aside?? he is the most worthy of a title shot in that division! GSP is a fucking homo, I hope Condit and Diaz just jump him in the car park!

GSP would beat both their asses at the same time even if they jumped him.

I don't see Nick Diaz winning this.  I think the only thing Diaz has that is better is his conditioning, but GSP regularly trains for 5 round fights.  Conditioning isn't a problem for him.  I see a lot of damage to Diaz's face, and another lay and pray victory.  The thing that really irritates me about GSP is that he has all the tools to finish guys, but like a lot of you said, he plays it too safe.
