Dan Henderson: Possible Fight In December, Possibly Dropping To 185 lb.

In recent statements made to Bubba from Bubba The Love Sponge Show, Dan “Hollywood” Henderson hinted that he could possibly be fighting as early as December. He didn’t name his possible opponent, but hinted that a weight drop would be needed for the fight.

This news comes as a surprise as Henderson continued to show interest in fighting as light heavyweight. Dan Henderson held the PRIDE FC light heavyweight and middleweight titles up until PRIDE FC was sold to Zuffa earlier this year.

If this fight happens, Henderson will be a much needed boost to the UFC middleweight division.

UFC 79 is scheduled for December 29 in Las Vegas Nevada.

Wonderful news. We've all said that if Henderson would drop down to middleweight he would give Anderson Silva the test that he deserves. Silva has dominated the division taking out the previous champ twice.

I would love to see Henderson and Silva square off.

Who do you guys think he will fight in Dec? And if he actually does fight in Dec, what a freakin card that will be huh?

wow i have said all along that he needed to move down to 185. And finally it looks like he will. And you mark my words he will beat Anderson Silva if they fight. I mean Dan is just so great everywhere. Not that Anderson is not but I dont think that Anderson has the power to KO Hendo. And I feel that if they fought that he wuld probally beat him like Couture did to Gonzaga. But hell u never know with Henderson. He could knock Anderson Silva right out. I love this fight. If it happens (which I believe it will becuse the Middleweight division is so weak) that hendo will show just how overrated Franklin and Silva are. I mean hendersons wrestling is superior to anderson and he will be able t take him down but will he need to?? Thats the queston. And I really dont see silva stopping henderson on any grounds.

the rematch with quinton isnt going to happen either. Not with everyone in line for the title shot. There is like 5 #1 contenders LOL

I agree that a Quinton rematch won't happen. It wasn't an exciting fight and the bigger man imposed his will. Henderson is great and has a chin like no other, but a fight with Anderson is not going to be a walk in the park. I considered Anderson a top 5 p4p a long time ago just by watching his instincts and power. You can argue that he is not #1 p4p since he hasn't beaten someone like Henderson or Matt Hughes, but he is up there with those guys in talent. That fight will be exciting and it will be a battle.

To be #1 p4p you need to beat FEDOR! Any questions?

well I think Fedor was #1.(in pride and bodog) but UFC is a lot different. So u cant really say he is or isnt #1. In a way he is. And a way he isnt. Being that he hasnt fought a #1 contender since like Nogueria-Fedor 3.Also I still dont feel that Anderson is close to being Top lb.4lb. fighter. I fell that he isnt even the top middleweight in the world. I know of somebody in the UFC that I feel would out strike Anderson and his name is Drew McFedries. The guy has bricks for hands. Hit Andersons chin and he will fall. Just like chuck they dont fight the best. Frank Shamrock is a great 185er.He would pose a challenge. Robbie Lawler, and Paulo Filho would also pose a challenge. That is my opinion but just watch. Overrated=Anderson Silva. More overrated then him was Rcih Franklin though. Whoever thought Franklin had a chance the second timeI just have one thing to say LOL

Anderson Silva has grown tremendously as a fighter. He is not overrated and he will beat Hendo. Unfortunately, if it does happen, it won’t take place in December. As for Alexander….I believe he is a contender.
