UFC President Dana White comments on the upcoming fight between Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock at EliteXC “Heat” on Oct 4th. As in true Dana fashion “Kimbo Sucks”

You know Dana would sign Kimbo in a heartbeat if he was a free agent. Kimbo's gold as far as drawing in mainstream fans.

I can see him signing Fedor long before he signs Kimbo. Lets face it guys Kimbo, from a skill stand point does suck. Great hes gonna beat up Shamrock who hasnt won a meaningful fight in ten years, or shamrock could beat him, for me this fight makes no sense because it does nothing to validate his ability which anyone who watchs this stuff regularly will tell you. If he wins, great he should have, and if he loses hes a bigger joke than before. Monson called him out and he didnt say a thing, WHY, because Jeff Monson would bury him. Like or not sooner or later hes got to get in the ring with someone whos still got it and when he does the legacy that all the bloggers and youtubers have made will crumble.

with out a dout if elite folded tomorrow dana would be signing kimbo, it all about the money and kimbo does draw numbers like him or not or even if he sucks.

this fight isnt about validating anything. It is all about ratings. Stop bashing on Kimbo for the last time. What the fuck did he ever do to piss u guys off. Get ma and punchy people. Take place in awesome fun to watch Brawls. I love watching him fight and I wish more people in the ufc that have the ground game would have half the attitude he has and try and hurt somebody. Hell half the people in the ufc go to decision more then they finish fights. That shit is boring. They try not to blow there load or there scarred to get hit or leave themsleves open. Fans want to see some hardcore back and forth action. Machida is so fucking boring. I dont care if it works or not I hate watching him fight. The guy runs away and counters. Wow he is some badass. No but seriously Dana is gonna say anything about anyone who isnt in the UFC that draws a crowd. I mean the guy talked shit about Fedor saying Randy is the best and that if Fedor wanted to be the best hed half to be the best. But wait he was talking shit about Randy when Randy wasnt gonna fight for them anymore. You know I know and the fighters know its bussiness but come on stop talking shit all the time Dana. I guess the reporter needs slapped in the mouth to. He knew what Dana was gonna say.

Kimbo does suck. Shamrock is washed up and will still win. If you want to watch a fighter of Kimbo's quality, type "beat down" on you tube. You'll find him next to the 6 teen age girls ganging up on the 1. I know that's a stretch but its really not that far off.
just another mma dud

You're right, Steve, it's not about being a valid fighter. I would say that the majority of people would change their mind about Kimbo if he were to fight someone credibly and win, though. I think we want him to live up to the hype. But the fact is that he is being forced down our throats as MMA fan's with nothing more than a PR and marketing pitch. If he were to fight anyone worth a damn we could feel good about his rise to fame. And everytime he gets a chance to put his butt where the media's mouth is, he picks a has been or a never was. First Tank Abbot and now Ken Shamrock? Is there anyone in the MMA world who thinks that Shamrock can beat anyone? Shamrock should have a sign around his neck at a carnival reading, "Fight a UFC Hall of Famer for $10 bucks". Sorry, Kimbo, beating Ken doesn't get it for you…and you still may not!
Yes, Dana is going to say they both suck because they don't work for him. We all know that. He's a marketing guy and done a great job of it, love him or hate him. Oh, and he is still right in his feelings on the fight. Kimbo's ground game is so bad it doesn't rank comment. If and when he learns how to use it, he'll be a fighter ready for the next step.

Kimbo does suck and he knows it, but he's not gonna give up money to beat up hasbeens would any of you? Dana wouldn't sign him because his ego won't let him. I do hope dana does train like he talks because most of the dudes that get in this sport aren't scared to slap the shit out of someone(dana) for being disrespected. Shit someone might get real street and kidnap his ass and drop him naked on a busy freeway!LOL

Kimbo doesnt pick his opponents. Bas picks his opponents for him as he has said on the show Inside MMA which he and Kenny Rice host. I love the show. Just to hear what some of the people think about certain issues. that arise in the mma world. I recommend it to anyone that doesnt have time to keep up on the whole mma scene.

Dont get me wrong guys I dont care if Kimbo wins or loses because when he finally loses and elite eventually folds we will find out how good he is when he goes somewhere and has to actually fight someone, I dont mind watching a good brawl but when its so one sided, all im saying is put him in there with someone who can stand toe to toe with him, hes a heavyweight right, big foot silva is suspended and if he wasnt what would happen if they fought, I would say it would be pretty likely that silva would win in brutal fashion, I just want him to beat SOMEBODY not just anybody like he has been and I am not shitting on him as a person, hell no cash the check I would but what happens when he loses, let him crush a few more cans and then get beat by a legit guy again and repeat that process until Kimbo is signing autographs in alleys behind porno shoots again. Just show me something that all I am asking.
dana would sign him
September 24, 2008 at 8:25 am
Lets say Dana would sign Kimbo… Kimbo would still have to fight and he wouldn't win in the UFC. Dana would probably sign Kimbo just to prove this.
September 24, 2008 at 8:40 am
i think so, he will either put him up against some one decent(not even close to good) just so he would lose to a low level ufc fighter, or he might try to get more fights out of him depending on the money he could make.

Dana is doing exactly what Elite does and thats put potential contenders against easy opponents to get hype and a good highlight reel. He would definitely sign Kimbo.
