It’s the battle of the welterweights when David Mitchell and Hyun Gyu Lim face each other at UFC on Fuel TV 6. The two impressive fighters will complete the night’s 10-fight bill.
Hyun Gyu Lim was expected to fight Marcelo Guimaraes at the said event but Guimaraes withdrew because of injury. Marcelo “Magrao” Guimaraes is an unbeaten fighter with 8 wins and 0 losses in his young career. He is just 29 years of age and yet he has beaten so many impressive names in the business namely Gilmar de Andrade, Ivan Galaz, Erik Baker, Ildemar Alcantara and Lucas Rodolfo Bresolin Rota to name a few. His most recent victory is against Daniel Stittgen in UFC on Fuel TV4 via split decision.
David “Daudi” Mitchell on the other hand is a 33 year old fighter from Windsor, California, USA. He is fresh from 2 consecutive losses with the current against Paulo Thiago at UFC 134 “Silva versus Okami” in August 2011. He currently has 11 wins and 2 losses in his fight card. His latest victory was against Poppies Martinez at the TPF 5 – Stars and Strikes in July 2010 via technical submission in just 1 minute and 32 seconds of the first round. He may have suffered recently from back to back defeats but fans are unfazed that he will fight Hyun Gyu Lim.
Mitchell’s opponent, Hyun Gyu Lim “The Ace”, is a 27 year old fighter from Seoul, South Korea. He has a superb record of 10 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw in his card. His recent victory was against Ryan Bigler at the PXC – Pacific Xtreme Combat 32 in July 2012 via Guillotine choke in just 53 seconds of round 1. If he defeats Mitchell at UFC on Fuel TV 6, this will be his 7th consecutive win. His last defeat was against Dmitry Samoilov at the M-1 Challenge 12 – USA in February 2009 via unanimous decision. The Ace has been pitted against great fighters and has managed to come out unscathed; he has been victorious against Takahiro Kawanaka, Ferrid Kheder, Ross Ebanez, Slade Adelbai, Brandon Magana, Noboru Onishi and Lucio Linhares to name a few.
UFC on Fuel TV 6 will be on November 10, 2012 at the Cotaiarena, Cotai, Macau. The show’s preliminary fights will be followed through live streaming at Facebook but the main broadcast fight will be seen on Fuel TV.
