BJ Penn and the UFC lightweight division proved to much for Diego Sanchez. Today he announced via his twitter account that he will indeed make the jump back up to welterweight after only three fights as a lightweight.

YES IM GOING BACK TO WELTERWEIGHT IM LOVING MY NEW DIET.I WANT KOS OR FITCH BUT ANY TOP GUY WILL DO JUST WANT TO GIVE U FANS THE BEST FIGHT… [Nate Diaz] @NateDiaz209 i agree you go robbed… i hear your going up too 170 too i would love to welcome you to welterweight lets make it happen.

He also responded on twitter to Nate Diaz, calling for the two to “make it happen”.

Diego loves the welterweight division, but does he stand a chance against well Fitch, Kos, Alves, GSP or Paul Daley?

    sanchez must still be drunk.

he loses to bj so he is quitting to face gsp? or is he finally understanding he is not an elite fighter yet. what a mistake he is making he is way to small for 170. he thinks adding 15lbs to the fight will make a difference?

diego you are messin up, stay at 155 and lose to kenny with some kind of respect.

    are you running from kenflo?

Yeah, if you lose at a lower weight class then you don't move up. lol Makes it even harder. Don't think he can drop to 145 nor would he want to leave the UFC to fight in the WEC so he should just work on his fighting instead of worrying about moving classes.

I'm not a Diego fan at all but he always looked weak at lightweight to me. I'd like to see him rematch with Kos, but he's got no shot at becoming champ unless GSP does leave the Ufc. to try and make the Canadian Olympic wrestling team. Even then Fitch would twist him into a knot.

Lets face it Diego is on track to be the Clay Guida of 170. He can't beat the top five, but is entertaining and brings that mental energy into the cage.

I am a fan of Diego's, but besides a mild improvement in his stand-up, he hasn't change much since TUF.

Stay at 155 and fight Florian.

I can't stand Diego. I just hate his interviews where he calls himself a warrior about a million times then gets his ass kicked in the fight. I would like to see him fight Kenny so kenny can get a win in the rematch. I would also like to see him fight Kos again and have Kos beat the shit out of him. Either weightclass he doesn't have a chance at the title. He's not an elite fighter in either of those divisions. However it would make me laugh for him to fight BJ again.

i think Nightmare at 170 is better for him..At 155 i thought he was cutting to much weight..See nate beat grey..

Nightmare vs KO or fitch or paul or alves would be great..
