Arlovski's payday finally came in. I can't believe Kimbo made half a mil to get one punched. No wonder fighters hate him.

I can see how he made that much. He put almost every fan in the seat and Arlovski should make that amount and yeah that is good for him. What still bugs me is that even on a card that is going on national TV the undercard fighters make $1,000 or possibly less if they lose. That is nothing. They would have to fight 30 times in the year to make $30,000. People wonder why the new UFC top guys r TUF alums. Its b/c nobody else can afford to train and get better like they need to to compete at the UFC and other higher lvl shows. Just annoying to to see that still. Sure u can make a good living but how many actually do compared to how many dont. It just sucks. I wish I could train full time and become a fighter but I dont want to be broke lol.

If you want to earn a good living go to college. If you want to be a fighter than fight to make it happen. If a persons dedication is determined by how much money or fame they will get , they will never survive as a fighter.

Ever hear of a single mother working two jobs to make ends meet? It is a fight and a struggle. It takes dedication and sacrifice to try and achieve something later on. If some chick with kids can do it I see no reason why a grown ass man couldn't do the same to be a fighter.

I have to agree with Steve on this one. I mean I see what you are saying Jake but the sport could have so much more talent if the lower class fighters could actaully train full time. The two job single mother thing is a perfect example of why people dont fight for a living. Making ends meet barely isnt fun.

What nobody seems to notice that Gina Carano only made like $25,000 and was pitched as much (more?) than Kimbo Slice. She put on a much better show, had a great fight, and was on every promotion and she got robbed by only making 1/20 of what "Dumbo" Slice did.

Those purses are made before the fight even happens, reguardless of the outcome. Next time they just won't pay him as much. It's kind of like how Tim Sylvia got paid, what, like 800,000 to fight Fedor, and Fedor got 300,000. Yeah, Kimbo really shouldn't have made that much, but too many people were there to see him. I don't know Jake, fighters have to be able to live. They should at least be paid enough to live. $1000 a fight isn't gonna get you much in this economy.

People didnt go to the event to see Gina fight. They went to see what would happen if Smahrock fought Kimbo Slice. That is why the payout was made like that. The pay the make isnt about how good u r its about how popular and how much money u can make for the organization. Its safe to say he wont make quite that much anytime soon. But noway should Gina have made more then Kimbo but Arlovski was paid a lot and I dont remeber him ever making that much for a fight in the UFC which is pretty bad considering he is probally in the top 10 most popular fighters out there.

I agree Carano was underpaid. You go to watch Kimbo but you look at the main card and see what names you want to see and she is one of them now.

really she is one of the fighters u want to go see fight? Arlvoski I can say I want to see fight but she really doesnt impress me all that much Cyborg who looks like a man will prolly run her ass over and ruin what little competition there is in womens mma.
