Fedor Emelianenko Sends An Open Letter To UFC President Dana White

“Numerous times have I read mister White’s statements on Internet concerning myself. In my opinion, allowing yourself to say those things is not a sign of a gentleman or a grown man at all! If he candidly wants to prove himself right then let my fight with Randy happen or let me face the reigning UFC champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. In the future I wouldn’t want to hear those statements in my address ever again and I won’t tolerate that.

My last fight in Japan proved that I’m ready to fight anybody with any height advantage, skillset or experience. I have fought and still wish to fight the best athletes. The Randy fight is my goal number one right now, he’s a great fighter and this is a very unfortunate situation when too strict and one-sided UFC contracts don’t let this fight happen.

The whole world is eager to see me fight your champions, people don’t want to listen to your press-conferences. I’m signed with M-1 Global and this promotion is ready to organize such fights under our banner or in co-promoted events.”

It is a shame that the whole world wants this fight to happen and one man does not have the balls to let it. Dana wants to rule the mma world but by not letting the fights of this magnitude happen he is proving to everyone that he is not as smart as he thinks he is. In boxings heyday all organizations let their champions fight one another and still do to this day. If Dana wants to be bigger than boxing than in my opinion he is going to have to act a little more like them. Lets have true world champions in all weight classes and see which organization can collect the most belts. If Dana thinks he has the best fighters than he should have nothing to worry about.

I think Dana White is using reverse phychology, to draw some kind of interest to the UFC. Obviously White didn't sign Fedor, so now he is belittling him as a second rate fighter. He is doing this, knowing that Fedor would adventually take the bait. Will the UFC be the organization to hold the Fedor vs. Couture fight? I dought it, but you never know. Weirder things have happened. For instance, the resigning of Tito Ortiz after all that Dana and him went though. Dana White knows that if another organization holds this fight, the UFC would then have a mojor competitor like Pride was.

wow, go fedor! this really puts ufc on its back with some pressure. fedor is smart because he can say all he wants about how he wants to fight randy because he knows ufc will never allow the randy-fedor fight via a m1 co-promotion.

I love Fedor going Dirty Harry. "In the future I wouldn’t want to hear those statements in my address ever again and I won’t tolerate that"

One Question: How will Co-Promoted events even work?

The UFC champ vs the M-1 champ then the winner is called the UFC M-1 world champion. It kinda seems like a double loss for whichever Promos fighter happens to lose.

I'm all for Fedor fighting champions like he wants but M-1 is going to have to buy some big names for him to fight.

With the UFC pissing on alot of there Heavyweights Arlovski and Silvia most recently it looks like Fedor should have some real fights coming soon.

I wasn't even aware the Fedor was a M1 Champion yet. I don't think they have enought fighters or fights to have a champion. If Dana did go out of the box and hold the even just before he loses Randy, I will regain all respect for him….it would be balsy and profitable.

I like that Fedor made these statement but the fact is The M1 President has stated he would be happy to co-promote Fedor vs Couture for months now and absolutely nothing has happened. Maybe this will put some added pressure on Dana White but he is one bull-headed individual that wants to put Couture in his place and has never agreed to co-promote an event. I believe he should make it happen as he will lose Randy regardless and never make any money off the fight when it happens. What I really hope come out of this is that the UFC and the other the legit champions from all the other MMA houses start fighting to see who really is the best. There are new MMA houses being established daily that continie to water-down the talent pool causing the best fights not to happen. The reality is the UFC may be the leader but they will never have all the best fighters so the need to start maybe 2-3-4 time a year doing cross promotions with other MMA houses they deam to have the best talent and really find out who the real champions are.

I'm with you on that cross promotion idea Joe but the truth is it's not going to happen for a long time. At least I know that the UFC won't do it as long as Dana is there. But I can see EliteXC and M1 uniting down the road and to tell you the truth it would be damn smart if they ever did that.

Good for Fedor…way to take the initiative. Maybe, if Dana the pressure keeps coming to Dana he will let the fight happen, but i seriously doubt it.

dana's ego will never allow a cross promotion. he will sink with the ship before he tries to join forces with anyone else. it really sucks because i would like to see fedor fight in the ufc.

someone posted this on sherdog and i though it was so funny and true that i had to put it on here

fedor just beat a buncha people in russia to win the gold in a sambo tournament… it took him all of 1:55 to beat three men

"Fedor is like a big kid who's failed a grade so he's in the same class as a bunch of smaller kids and has no trouble beating the crap out of any of them."

Yes , Fedor should fight any UFC champs who want some… they talk about Silva ,etc. (who mentioned Kimbo- thats laughable)… Brock Lesner… etc… Fedor has beat some big dudes(height & weight wise) so weight class shouldn't be an issue…

its about time, past due actually…

One thing alot people overlook is why Dana doesn't want to co-promote…he's been there and done that. Back between 00-04, Dana would send guys to fight over in PRIDE like Liddell, Sherk and Rodriguez. PRIDE never sent anyone back to fight in the UFC and that left a bad taste in his mouth. Anyone remeber back in '05 when he tried to set up Chuck vs Wanderlie and it didn't happen because of PRIDE's management.

Most of what Dana said about Fedor comes out of frustration from not being able to pick up his contract when Zuffa acquired PRIDE in '07. He wanted to bring him into set up a championship unification match between Fedor and Randy. Randy knew that Zuffa was about to purchase PRIDE and figured if he could beat Tim, Fedor would come in with that acquisition and he could test himself against the best in the world. When that didn't happen, Couture saw no reason to continue fighting and wanted out of his contract, thus the cause of his year long layoff/legal dispute.

Fedor is a bad SOB, I'd say the only challenges left for him are going to the UFC and see how he adapts to the cage. Whether that means he continues to fight at heavy or drops down to lightheavy and see how he does there. Fedor isn't a solid 230 lbs so he could make 205 without too much trouble. Except for Arlovski I can't think of too many other fighters from the former USSR that are lean and muscular. Comparing him to that fat tub of lard Roy Nelson, at least he isn't obese lol

I want to see Fedor in the UFC as much as anyone, will it ever happen, only time will tell.
