Last July 7, Friday at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Area, UFC 148 was held between UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin, former UFC light heavyweight champion. As the final part of their trilogy, they made a good exhibition on their ‘Fight of the Night.’
Thrilling Fight on Round 1
During the Round 1, Griffin started the fight with a head kick then used his right hand to circle straight on Ortiz. Griffin tries some decent strikes on Ortiz by attempting to work his front kick. However, Ortiz manages to shoot in and take him down. Even though this happens, Griffin stands up and gets off Ortiz by taking him down with a combo. He guards more of Ortiz’s nabs but the latter makes his moves by ensuring with slow fight exchanges. Ortiz grabs Griffin and shoves him on the side of arena. Ortiz tries lunging hook but misses on Griffin. The latter seeks vengeance with is superman punch. The first round is finished with one more attempt from Ortiz. Fighting Scores were 10-9 in favor of Ortiz.
Filling It All Up on Round 2
Ortiz manages his fighting grip but his opponent quickly gets his position fast. A couple more tags from Ortiz but Griffin stays and stands. He snaps Ortiz’s head with a right jab. Hard Ortiz stands up but lands up a front kick from Griffin. More hammerfists are blown by Griffin even Ortiz tries to attempt. Fight is favorable on Griffin with 10-9.
Summing the Odds on Round 3
Ortiz tries to defend himself with punch combos and low kicks from Griffin. A left hook made Ortiz lucky for some time but is continuously guarded by Griffin. He thinks of the fence to turn down Ortiz. They both fire off with different combinations. Ortiz earns the odds and raises his hands at the end. In favor of Ortiz, 10-9 but Griffin defeated Ortiz through unanimous decision.
