Former Champion Marloes Coenen Cut From Stikeforce, Zuffa Killing Women’s MMA?

UFC cleans house with Team Golden Glory — Marloes Coenen and Valentijn Overeem have been cut from Stikeforce according to her coach Martijn de Jong.

Could this be the sign that Zuffa has had enough of Women’s MMA. Or could this be just retaliation on Netherlands based Team Golden Glory who represents Alistair Overeem.

Coenen has defeated a who’s who of top fighters in the sport. She took the title away from Sarah Kaufman last year before giving it up to Miesha Tate last weekend via a perfectly executed arm triangle choke.

To cut a fighter of her caliber, it seem like Zuffa has no plans to further Women’s MMA.
