Georges St. Pierre Talks About Moving To Middleweight – Video

Fans have been calling for GSP to make the move up in weight and challenge Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight belt. St. Pierre talks about the obstacles in that plan, like gaining muscle and fighting friends.

St. Pierre takes on Dan Hardy at UFC 111 on March 27 in NJ.

If he fought Anderson Silva that would be crazy. #1 guy vs the #2 guy in the world…..that would be awesome. I don't think that GSP could hang with Silva though.

man forget about MW, lets see him go to LHW…………..

GSP is another Roy Jones Jr., he will never switch weight classes until there is some loser up there that has no business being a champion (John Ruiz). GSP will sit back and fight all these guys at WW because the WW is the 2nd weakest division in the UFC, only behind HW. Then years from now when nobody bothers to watch his fights anymore because everyone is so out classed, he'll get forced to do something different. He's a chicken who just hangs around at that weight because nobody can touch him.

I think he hung around WW because he still had people to beat. You say WW is such a weak division but look at his last three opponents. Alves, BJ, and Fitch. All three are amazing fighters. I don't think he's avoiding people at MW. I think he could probably beat anyone at MW besides Silva. I dont think Hardy is any competition for him but his previous fights are pretty amazing.

for GSP, there is nobody left at welterweight. he beat hughes, fitch, bj penn, sanchez, etc. — ALL convincingly. if he moves up to middleweight, he should fight anderson silva. silva has been looking sloppy in his last few fights because he has no competition. but i think he may have too much power for GSP.

remember when travis lutter fuller mounted silva and punches his face like your kid sister would

what do you think GSP would do to him once he got him down

silva can not fight on the ground and will get smashed

    GSP fought koscheck not sanchez

GSP is a chicken? His record and Pound for pound ranking would disagree.

Lets see him fight at MW first YC. lol I'd like to see BJ, GSP and Silva all move up and stay at the weight class above them because there's nothing left for any of them in their own classes. Anderson has already looked amazing enough to take the belt at 205. BJ might be able to grab the 170 belt if GSP let it go and I'd like to see what GSP could do against a top mw. Do it… do it!

cuntman you are really a cunt for saying that silva cant fight on the ground. Nate marquart, Hendo, Leitus, all elite level ground fighters had their chance and didnt give silva trouble on the ground. Also your not weak on the gorund if you have a BJJ black belt from the Nog brothers. Its just Silva is so good on his feet that his gorund is his weakest spot. But in reality its not He does have High level BJJ. Also did you see that reversal he did on GSP's teammate Marqaurt and than he finished him afterwards. GSP running his mouth and saying that he wont fight his friends Well guess what Nate marqaurt is probably the number one contender in the middleweight divsion And GSP will have to eventually have to face him.

That would be an awesome fight Josh but I think Silva would take Rampage easy… well, at least as easy as anybody could take Rampage cause he's no easy fight but I can't imagine Rampage beating Anderson. A better fight would be Anderson vs the winner of Machida/Shogun cause it'd be way more interesting than Thiago, Rashad or Rampage getting a shot.

The fight between Rashad and Thiago pretty much said, you guys are top contenders but not ready for a title shot. If one would have finished the other in devastating fashion then it'd be different. Give Anderson the shot… if he wants it.

Then after Anderson fights Machida, he could fight Lesnar for the HW title, then he could start fighting in the UFC Super Heavyweight division if they start it. I'm joking, but only a little I guess.

I think I agree with you completely on this Oswald.

also, remember silva submitted Lutter and Hendo. Both guys are great on the ground and both gave him a little trouble but he figured them out and finished them. I would also say that the spider is pretty good at the ground game.
