TG “Roy” for the spark
February 19, 2009 at 3:28 am
This has been mentioned way too many times. GSP and his corner do need to be thoroughly investigated and dealt with accordingly, but the fact of the matter is, (And I'm a BJ fan) BJ got whooped. Period. Greasing or not, BJ was destroyed and the outcome would have been the same 10 times out of 10.
If in fact, GSP and his camp are cheating, they obviously need to come clean if he ever wants to have a future in this sport. As for BJ, his true colors are coming out and I've lost my respect for him as a person. Great fighter, but his character's not up to par…

I have to agree with the post made by "Truth". BJ's acting like a 7-year old crybaby and throwing his little temper tantrum. What a shame. Man up, fool! Accept that you got your ass kicked and move on.
February 19, 2009 at 3:41 am
i do agree with what both of you said, but bj has said he got his ass beat so what are you guys talking about, i think they where cheating and thats not good for the sport, thats the only thing that concerns me now not the outcome of the fight bj lost and would have with out the lube but we can't ignore cheating.

WWwwHHHAAaaaTTTTTtt The FF!@$5KKK!!!!! REMATCH With NOOOOoo VASELINE IN EITHER CORNER!!!!!!
February 19, 2009 at 3:45 am

February 19, 2009 at 3:50 am
Well Said Roy, crybaby or not you Can't Cheat!!! Now I have to give the money back. (Yeah Right! lolollo)
February 19, 2009 at 6:20 am
Im with dwayne. rematch but rub them both head to toe in fucking baby oil and lets see who wins. I bet a trillion dollars that GSP smashes his face in again. Its always amazing how guys that run their mouth all the time always find excuses why they lost. Not i go out trained. Not I'm just not as good as him. Not I have no business in welterweight anymore. HE WAS SLIPPERY. Boo Fuckin Hoo. Now stop posting about this shit, I cannot wait til kenflo wastes his ass and then he will say that Kenny had illegal hair gel that burnt his skin or gave him a yeast infection.
February 19, 2009 at 6:23 am
bj must have shelled out some good money to get this video made. thats some pretty good production.
February 19, 2009 at 7:36 am
BJ is just a sore loser!!! Get over it, cry baby!
February 19, 2009 at 7:56 am
bj is a sore loser and gsp is a cheater, i wonder how he will do against alves with no vasoline.lol
February 19, 2009 at 9:31 am
This is a joke. It looks bad but was a stupid mistake by Phil Nurse. So we are supposed to believe that he has been greasing and not getting caught..BULLSHIT!!
If he was, why would his opponents not call foul during the fight!?!?!? Simple..just say "I think he is greasy check him out"
Also, he was checked before the fight..no vas for round 1…he had the bit on for round 2 and the commission wiped him down before 3 and 4 removing sweat and all. He was dry as a bone for 1, 3 and 4. Should that not make it easier for bj on the ground?! It too bad this will taint GSP's win, but its simply BJ being a winy little bitch.
February 19, 2009 at 11:03 am
Why are all you idiots saying that BJ is whining? HE SAYS HE GOT HIS ASS KICKED. HE DIDN"T MAKE THIS VIDEO!
The bottom line is that you can't let stuff like this go. If you have never wrestled before than I can see how you would say that it is no big deal. But the bottom line is, it is kind of a big deal. It may not have been the difference in the fight but it IS cheating.
February 19, 2009 at 12:25 pm
So, if BJ is a bitch for calling out the greasing, what does that make ALL the other fighters making statements? And Luk, he couldn't have been bone dry because he was glistening. Skin doesn't naturally glisten like that after it is "wiped down." I still think the fight would have ended the same way, but you can't deny that if GSP was extra slippery, that would hinder submission attempts. Besides, Sherk said it after their fight, what was he supposed to do, call time out in the middle of the fight? The fighters making the claims that he was slippery during their fights are fucked either way because even if they called it during the fight, right after or ten years later, people are still going to have the same opinions that you have now. They have this mentality that since some people are coming out with it, they will so that they are not the only ones saying it. I still believe that the fight would have ended the same way, by tko or by decision in GSP's favor, but there was still a possibility of BJ pulling off a submission, and lube could effectively prevent that.

The worst part about this is that GSP and Penn were my two favorite fighters. It will be interesting to see how this comes out for GSP. I have lost all respect for BJ though.
Too bad really. This was a huge win for GSP but hell, ill be paying to see St Pierre/Penn 3
February 19, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Some of you guys say you are BJ Penn fans but you don't even know him or keep up with his interviews. BJ says he trained hard, and got his ass kicked. How is that making excuses? Yeah, he still talks about the greasing up thing, but it's true, GSP and his camp did cheat. If he didn't actually do it, and BJ was doing all this, then yeah I would say he's whining but the fact is, GSP put himself in this position and got caught.
No matter the outcome, cheating is cheating. The vaseline was an advantage. The only way I don't see it as an advantage is if GSP beat him standing the whole entire fight. Once you grapple, it's an advantage. If you got dominated by a guy who greased up in your fight and found out by the NSAC commission, what would you do? Let it go? You gonna let someone cheat and let it go? If your answer is yes then you truly don't care about the sport and how this situation taints the sport. You are letting your fanhood of GSP or your hate for BJ Penn blind you of the fact that it's bad for the sport. Then you can go on and root for the cheating Patriots for all I care.
February 19, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Anyone thats done jitz knows how much sweat plays into your ability to execute a submission. Vaseline is even worse. Personally I think it was wrong but not wrong enough to take anything away from GSP. And I really haven't seen Penn admit he got beat just because of that and he'll let the commission decide on the issue. I've trained at Jacksons gym and trust me cheating is not part of the game plan. Greg and GSP are class acts. I'll pay to see another GSP/Penn fight any day.
February 19, 2009 at 2:51 pm
Well said David. I'm not partial to GSP or BJ, but cheating is cheating and it has to be stopped. If this isn't made a big deal of then it will continue and that is not what this sport needs. Would the outcome of the fight be different? We'll never know, but one thing for sure is that greasing up fighters needs to be stopped because it does give an unfair advantage. I just feel bad for GSP because they're always going to be keeping a close eye on him now, even if it wasn't intentional. Nurse has been cornering long enough to know the rules by now, thats all I know. Hopefully this issue will be resolved and fade away because this sport does not need controversy like this.
February 19, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Good posts David and Morey. That is what basically needed to be said in a nutshell. But I still think the fight had a chance to end in BJ's favor had there not been vaseline. Maybe not a big chance, but still a chance.
February 20, 2009 at 3:24 am
great post david, i am getting sick of people saying bj won't admit defeat when he already has, and say they lost respect for bj for whining but not gsp for cheating.
February 20, 2009 at 3:53 am
well said roy…didn't like gsp prior to this don't like him still…but he did beat BJ and without the grease i believe he still would have…BJ didn't dominate like i thought he would..even he admits he got his butt kicked…begrudgingly one day i might, too…i didn't lose any respect for bj but almost gained some for gsp… although i would like to see him vs spider…more for punishment than anything >:)
February 20, 2009 at 4:08 am
just watched the video…wow does that not look good for gsp….brock punches CLOSE to the back of the head and they practically stop the fight…granted gsp is 1/3 the size he basically (?) had free range with a little strong wording from herb and got to pound away…and the sliding off gsp's back while on the ground?….very sneaky sis!
February 20, 2009 at 4:23 am
with out a dout he beat the shit out of bj,it was like a man vs food challenge "how much humble pie could bj eat" he ate a ton and there was still plenty left.i am getting tired of this whole thing my only point is people talking out there ass when they have not heard anything that has really been said dosn't matter if your for gsp or bj or neither.
February 20, 2009 at 6:49 am
Great video. I'm not sure if i'd like to see a rematch. I still think that bj is too small for 170. I hope he stays at 155 because he looks dominating at light weight. Kenflo will get crushed. And diego will get choked out while he is trying to stay calm in the cage through meditation (by bj) because he's a weird ass.
