This is the best news for fans who have been requesting a rematch between Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit; the two are at it again and this time it’s in Montreal at UFC 158. MacDonald announced on Wednesday as he appeared on MMAJunkie Radio that although UFC has not officially announced the pairing it was definitely a possible plan that will surely take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal on March 16, 2013.
MacDonald was fresh from his unanimous decision victory over B.J. Penn last Saturday on UFC on Fox 5 when he requested a rematch between him and Condit. He made it clear that this was a fight that he was looking forward to as he was interviewed after the fight. And it was not a long wait to get results from the other camp. Fuel TV’s “UFC Tonight” has reported that Condit had accepted MacDonald’s challenge. The specifics of the fight are yet to be revealed considering that UFC 159 is still several months away.
And why do you think Rory “Ares” MacDonald is inching to get it on with Condit? “The Natural Born Killer” is the only loss that MacDonald has ever suffered in his professional career. The welterweight from Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, has 14 wins and only one loss which happened in UFC 115 in June 2010 when Condit defeated him via TKO. Ares has fought and defeated so many terrible and superb fighters of all time like Nate Diaz, Mike Pyle and Che Mills at UFC. MacDonald was an unbeatable fighting machine when he was in KOTC, Rumble in the Cage and when he was also in Extreme Fighting Challenge.
Carlos Condit on the other hand is a welterweight from Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States and he has 28 wins and only 6 losses in his career. His last fight was a memorable headliner against Georges St. Pierre at UFC 154 when he loss via unanimous decision in November 2012. Before this loss, he had 5 straight wins since 2009 defeating fighters like Nick Diaz, Dong Hyun Kim, Dan Hardy, Jake Ellenberger and of course Rory MacDonald in 2010.
The details of the fight will soon be announced but its official. It is Carlos Condit versus Rory MacDonald in a rematch at UFC 158 in March 16 at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada with a headliner welterweight fight between Georges St. Pierre versus Nick Diaz.
