JOKE, JOKE, JOKE! This fight has "JOKE" written all over it! Rogers is a slugger that should be fighting Kimbo. No hugging there but a flat out pugilist in purity.

If Barnett takes the fight it's only for a paycheck. But then again, I don't see Barnett to active nowadays so I almost don't blame him. But, Barnett should be fighting a real MMA fighter and not some knock out king of the independent road shows.

"IF" and I mean "IF" this fight does happen I will easily put my money on Barnett but rooting for Rogers all the way. I like the underdog but to call Rogers an underdog is a understatement. It's like saying the Elephant Man had a little swelling around the eye.

this is going to be a good fight, because josh will over look rogers and get knock out

I think barnett is the most underrated hvwyt ot there now. This fight should be easy for him but you never know. He is staying as active as any fighter out there and will most likely get to fight the winner of the fedor aa for the real hvywt belt(wamma). He has good standup, rock chin, great subs and sick gnp. He stomped couture in Randy's first title run and has competed in Pirde with guys like nog. He can beat anybody out there on the right night. I have wanted to see Fedor vs Barnett for years. Rogers will get schooled and not make it out of the first rd.

I agree. Barnett is extremely under-rated. He has beaten most of the top fighters out there. I would like to see him fight Arvloski. I think that lots of people want some of the Elite XC fighters to sign with the UFC and Affliction to see what they really have and because some of us want to see some of them get their ass kicked. Who would not like to see Kimbo get knocked out again? Brett is right up there to. He definitely can strike but he is a huge duche bag. If he was smart, he would have signed with the UFC because their HWT division is not as strong as Affliction's. If he loses 1 or 2 fights in row, he will be done with Affliction and the UFC will want nothing to do with him neither. I see a Barnett submission in the first round.

I've been screaming for a barnett vs fedor match.

It's just that I live in the middle of nowhere and nobody can hear me.

I don't know that Rogers is going to be a pushover for Barnett. I do think Barnett takes this one and that would set up the Barnett vs Fedor match that we've all been trying to see.

    …hunh?…what was that Jake?…

    I keed! I keed!

I don't think fedor has too many other fights after aa. Barnett might be a possibility if nothing goes sideways in fedor's match with aa or rogers vs barnett… who is really gonna challenge him after that…that is if fedor is still really the king and not just good against suck a$$ no heart mofo's like sylvia…aa will test that theory and THEN we'll see.

Thanks guys. I thought I was alone in my thinking on Barnett. If we had gotten Fedor vs Randy we would have also seen AA vs Barnett with the winner getting the champ. Wow that would have been awesome. Rogers has more potential than Kimbo ever did but that's still not much as it turns out Kimbo is lower tier fighter after all. Rogers would do better in the UFC against the weaker hvyts they have at the lower and mid levels. Barnett will destroy his career before it has a chance to begin.

this fight is not happening, aleks has signed to fight barnett and he must be able to get cleared because i dout affliction would sign this fight if he could not and possibly leave barnett with out a fight.

  15. MW74

    November 28, 2008 at 7:50 am

what do you mean roy? which fight isn't gonna happen? No chance even AFTER this next affliction date? fedor vs barnett…

  16. fedor24

I know Fedor and Barnett both want this fight. They are friends and have wanted to fight for years. Alex's "health" issue kept him from getting licensed by the athletic commission. Alex would step aside to let his brother fight.

    November 28, 2008 at 8:30 am

aleks is fighting barnett in jan 08 for aflicition already signed according to aleks so i think his ban in ca for bs and now that comissioner is out.

Alex was talking trash and Barnett called him out. Hope this fight happens. Barnett will beat him up. Thanks roy!

didn't rogers lose a fight in elite?

  21. roy

    November 28, 2008 at 8:52 am

i am pretty sure he is undefeated, not against anyone great though.

  22. MW74

    November 28, 2008 at 8:55 am

it'll be interesting to see how he fares against higher calibur opponents…shoula gone to strikeforce or something first.

  23. roy

    November 28, 2008 at 8:58 am

yeah i don't see affliction trying to groom any of there young hw's they have a few decent onesthat are not top guys like nelson rothwell kirli paul and grimm instead of having them fight each other and getting better they are throwing them to the big boys for lunch.

  24. MW74

    November 28, 2008 at 9:05 am

that's whats gonna set them aside from ufc…but all that cannibalism will be for naught if they don't replenish at some time…bigger picture is that they game plan for the long haul…not try to ko ufc and their ppv's just add some friendly comp and keep competitive…bigger picture is that these two figure out a way to go nfl vs afl (see history books) and quadruple their revenues by combining the talents and getting the fights that everyone wants to see… what if fedor ends up as king for awhile…it won't last that long…only prob is that it does more for affliction than for ufc…oh well wtf..a guy can wish

  25. zalbag

    November 28, 2008 at 7:45 pm

The thing is that we are probably within a month from most of these fighters from Elite hitting free agency and then all hell breaks loose. However when the smoke clears it appears as though affliction will end up with the most elite xc fighters. The UFC has been cutting fighters like crazy for a few months this trend should continue based off the patterns that have become presidents.

roy i totally agree with you i think that eventually affliction will run out of giant matchups. i mean it seems like they are all ready kind of having a hard time finding a lot of good matchups and its their second show. rogers is an exciting fighter they shouldnt sacrifice him so soon. rogers vs pedro rizzo might be more evenly matched and could see where rogers talent level is. hell id even watch kimbo vs rogers as long as it wasnt the main event i think it would be entertaining.
