Martial Artist Beats Reality Star Kim Kardashian in MMA Arena
American mixed martial arts fighter and judo Olympian Ronda Rousey wants Kim Kardashian to be her next challenger for an MMA fight.
While promoting her magazine cover for the2012“The Body Issue”of ESPN The Magazine held at Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California on July 10, 2012,Rousey commented in an interview that she wants to beat reality star Kim Kardashian for being a bad example among young women.
Kim Kardashianis an American socialite who starred on E!’s reality series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Prior to the development of her television career, this actress gained notoriety as the subject of a sex video.
According to Rousey, Kardashian who became a celebrity because of a sex video she did with some guy should not be idolized. She also expressed her dismay on Kardashian’s ad for Skechers. Rousey said that she don’t want Kardashian be selling the shoe brand to teenage girls like her little sister.
Rousey is the recent bantamweight champion under women’s division of Strikeforce, an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)-owned MMA organization. She was the bronze medallist in judo during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China. Rousey made her mixed martial arts debut as an amateur when she defeated Hayden Munozmade on August 6, 2010 and launched her professional careerwhen she defeated Ediane Gomes at King of the Cageon March 27, 2011. Since then, Rousey became one of the world’s celebrated female mixed martial artists because of her beauty and striking personality. She is also notable for using harsh vocabulary and downplaying her opponents in Women’s MMA and is not apologetic for this behaviour for she believes it’s a way to create publicity for the sport. Being the representative of UFC’s marketing campaigns, she is also credited for the legalization of the sport in the state of New York. Meanwhile, Rousey will put her bantam weight championship title against Sarah Kaufman in San Diego, California on August 18, 2012 which will be broadcasted live on “Showtime.”
During the photo-shoot for the cover of “The Body Issue,” Rousey was really naked but in the pictures, she hasn’t shown everything. “The Body Issue” is an annual edition of ESPN The Magazine which features 30 world athletes in nude and semi-nude photos in an attempt to rival the “Swimsuit Issue” of Sports Illustrated. Other mixed martial art fighters were also featured in the magazine including Knicks’ Tyson Chandler and Ranger’s Brad Richards.
