Cro Cop was a HUGE dissapointment in the UFC. Looks to me like he is bitching out because he knows he has no chance in the UFC. He was totally outclassed. I'm sure the UFC doesn't want to pay $350,000+ for his lackluster performances either!

Cro cop did not adjust well to the cage… No matter what people say Pride and UFC are different – The Elbows on the ground did Cro cop in during his fight with Gonzaga… when he got up he was dazed – thats why he got caught by the high kick…

But, thems the rules, so fair play to Gonzaga!

I'm pretty dissapointed to see Cro Cop leave without proving himself!

I don't think he was out classed… Although I reckon he was made to slightly better than he was because Pride put a lot of Tomato Cans against him!

Looking at it now… He was always gonna struggle in the UFC HW division cos he's a small HW with no ground game! He coulda' dropped to 205!

Hope he does well elsewhere in MMA though!!

realy its the ufc backing out of the contract they don't want to pay him and since he did not look good in the ufc the fans that only know ufc don't think its much of a lose.i am sad to see him go i would have liked to see him redeem himself in the ufc and i think he could have.

I just hope they can find some good competition to put him up against. Yeah, it would be really good to see CroCop vs. Fedor again. I can't keep track of some of the organizations and I haven't heard of Dream before. As long as they are going to copromote with M1 it sounds like a good plan for CroCop.

No question he could have been great in the UFC. I just don't think he was happy there. Theres a big difference between fighting to uphold your contract and fighting to be the best. In his blog and interviews, it sounds like he has a passion to fight again.

i thought he would have more pride (no pun intended) than that to leave on two loses… if he would have bulked up i think he coulda got back in the swing of things and been a contender again. this is a very disappointing announcement in my oppinion.

what doesn't make sense is that mirko signed a two year 6 fight contract with the UFC. the UFC released mirko. so someone tell me why the UFC can't release randy couture?

    February 13, 2008 at 4:32 pm

because randy is their champion and they dont want him going to another org.

while CC was just beatin badly by two no names… i dont think they wanted to pay him 350,000 a fight when he's not bringing his A game and all the new fans who dont know him think he sucks. i think he is a great fighter but his legacy will be tarnished in a lot of peoples eyes for losing twice then leaving

The athletic commission is Corrupt. My Sister blows a guy named James Lewis, whose friends with Joe Smith. Joe Smith has a direct line to God and God said the My brother is always right and doesn’t lie. So Joe Smith gave James Lewis nine dollars. James Lewis in turn gave my Sister half of that money to blow Dana White and convince him to put pressure on the Athletic Commision to cancel this Event. I know this because I was there. It all happened in the octagon that my brother originated.

I’ll bet none of you knew that. Cantact me at I_am_a_tool@yahoo.com for proof. I’d love to share it with you. Soon I will expose this corruption…..It wont be long….any day now…..Soon…..I’ll be on the news….one of these days…..

he didn't look that bad against kongo. maybe if he didn't get kneed in the stones 4 times he might have had more of a chance but who knows. I hope that he doesn't get rushed into another fight with fedor too soon because Fedor would destroy cro cop again. He should fight a few decent names like seghei kharitonov or semmy schilt and maybe even alexander emelianenko so he can gain a few wins and gain a bit of mentality. if he loses 3 in a row then you might have to stick a fork in him. anyway. WAR MIRKO

who pays pride fighters that are new to the UFC more then the ufc fighters?? sounds like some paid events I bet alot of ppl thought gonzaga would knock out randy probaly lost alot of money to the gamble, just cause that staged wide open headkick, look how he goes up to block it and then down? is a zombie the whol fight but faught with confidents on his ufc debut and in pride? oh wait maybe the same with the rest?? idk I been sneazing and im allergic to bull sh**

It's a shame that a great fighter such as Cro Cop has to be subject to the UFC meat-grinder. Mirko is not one of my favorite fighters, but the man deserves respect. The brutal and humiliating knockout he suffered against Gonzaga is indicative of the chance MMA competitors are taking, but the average American MMA fan seems to think it's all just a video-game. The fact that Mirko walked out of the ring after that head-kick, and the fact that he fought Congo (who should've been DQed for those repeated low-blows) within a few months is astonishing.
