Chuck is one of my favs, but with the slope he's been on this is one fight i don't want to see.

Anderson Silva vs. Chuck Liddell is a dream fight that I have wanted to see since the talks of Silva testing the waters at 205! This would be a mega draw and would truly test Silva at 205. Not only would it test Silva, but it would be a must win for Liddell.

This will be a great fight…
October 31, 2008 at 12:51 am
Hope it happens
October 31, 2008 at 12:52 am
Nate Fury are you on crack? Chuck Lidell sucks, he is a one dimensional fighter who's game doesn't threat anyone anymore. Rashad KTFO of Lidell, imagine what Anderson Silva would do to him! This fight would not test Anderson in any way, What I wanna see is:
Anderson vs Okami
Anderson vs GSP
Anderson vs Wanderlei Silva
Anderson vs Lesnar (lol impossible)
October 31, 2008 at 1:42 am
culo – you make good point but then you say you wanna see Anderson fight a guy chuck just beat? (Wandy)
Chuck isnt a one deminsional fighter. He is a great wrestler and I believe a brown or purple belt in BJJ. Yes he is not the threat he used to be but it would still be a great fight!

when two big power punching men step into a cage anything can happen

this is defintely the more likely fight to happen as Chuck will draw a bigger crowd. It is almost guaranteed to be a KO by one fighter. Reasliticlly though this is just a fight that is more likely to take Chuck out of the mainstream and effectively end his career as a conteder in any weight class.
October 31, 2008 at 3:16 am
I bet you dont see Chuck with his hands down by his side in this fight. Atleast I hope not. I so it will last all of 30 secs. He will have to fight a technical fight to last in this one.
October 31, 2008 at 3:23 am
it might not be the best match up out there but it would still be a huge draw and thats why it makes sense.
October 31, 2008 at 3:38 am
I think it would be a good draw…
October 31, 2008 at 5:17 am
a big draw but a career shattering fight for chuck. i hope he gets a tune up fight before fighting silva because he will not beat the spider.
October 31, 2008 at 5:22 am
I agree but vice versa…if Chuck wins that could be the restart he needs to continue fighting and to get better..but i dont see it going that way…Silva will win.

If Chuck beat Anderson, his career would definitly be resurrected. His recent lack luster performances would be forgotten and he would be instantly be a contender again. He knows this and this is why he will take this fight. On the other hand, he knows if he loses he is pretty much done. This fight would definitly be a stand up war, unless Chuck deciedes to score some points off takedowns, like he did against Wandy. Patrick Cote showed Anderson Silva is not unbeatable and after watching that fight, Chuck will be more confident he can beat Anderson on his feet. If Anderson wins, it will be a page out of Jardine's book. Kicks. Only this time, Chuck will be ready to counter this and will defend well. My prediction: Chuck Liddell by TKO in RD. 2.
October 31, 2008 at 12:09 pm
my prediction Chuck Liddel leaves his hands down the whole fight again cause he is too stubborn to change his fighting style and gets knocked out at the end of round one with a flying superman elbow kick.
October 31, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Culo, Chuck sucks? That's why he's a legend and was the biggest draw in MMA right? I'd like to see any of these LHWs get the title and defend it as long as he did. Chuck would be a harder fight for Anderson tehn GSP. 205 vs 170? Weight classes are there for a reason. You think GSP cuold stand with Silva? lol As for Okami, Silva was killing him in their other fight until he got DQ'd. Silva's best fights are at 205 with several people.
October 31, 2008 at 11:57 pm
I'd rather see Anderson vs Machida
November 2, 2008 at 12:50 am
chcuck would get dropped..
jsh tompson is a badass
November 4, 2008 at 4:03 am
the sport has evolved chuck hasent he will get knocked out again with his wild uncoverd punches mr i wont tuck in my chin my prediction round one knock out
November 4, 2008 at 5:31 am
Chuck really needs to elavate his game otherwise he is done and i mean finished period.
November 5, 2008 at 10:50 am
Oswald, Culo is right, Chuck sucks! The Chuck you are talking about is long gone. That Chuck was great because he had knockout power, incredible takedown defense, and if taken down, could quickly get up. This Chuck is old, slow, predictable, and worse of all stubborn. He won 1 of his last 4 fights and that was a decision, not even a knockout like he Chuck of old would have done. He was knocked out in 2 of the losses and the other loss was to a good but inconsistent fighter. He is a legend that will go down as one of the best ever but at this point in his career, he is done. While he can knock anyone at any time, I don't think he could beat half of the 205 division. Silva would crush him.
November 8, 2008 at 3:53 pm
If the spider thinks like you guys he will get knocked out. Chucks chin is weak obviously cuz rashad knocked him out BUT he could not anyone out still with one punch. So take the iceman seriously
November 8, 2008 at 3:54 pm
*knock* not *not* anyone out
November 14, 2008 at 7:01 am
every one really sounds stupid with the chuck sucks comments. i cant belive the people who probably used to go for him now talk shit on him. anderson silva wants this fight because he knows this will be a true test to his striking and chin. anderson dosent have the 1 punch power rashad or rampage has so count that out. will not be able to clinch and use knees. chuck dosent get clenched. look at wandi. this will be about the 2 counter strikers in a chess match. looking for openings. and after the feel out silva is gonna put pressure and chuck is gonna do what he dose best. back up side step and through hard. chuck learned his lesson his face will be covered better. i say silva trys to take it to the ground
December 2, 2008 at 1:06 am
r u sucked man
silva defenitly has 1 punch ko power even he never showed it he still has it
like in the irvin fight, only took him one punch to get him down, the rest were just to make sure he wins
he was out after the first punch
i ment fucked
