Tito Ortiz had major surgery to have two vertebrae fused together, this X-Ray shows the extent of the procedure. Hopefully this fixed some of this lingering problems and we can get the old “wining” Tito back. Props: Kom34

Really quit being an asshole.

If you think "Ouch that had to be painful". Deserved a "no shit moron". Keep it to yourself, instead of calling someone a moron. Saying it makes you look like an asshole.

Looks like Tito had two surgeries performed. He had an XLIF (Extreme lateral interbody fusion) at L4-L5 in which a large cage made of plastic was inserted through his left flank. Then a titanium plate with 2 screws were put in for additional support. At L5-S1, he had an AxiaLIF procedure done through a different incision. Here, an incision was made near the coccyx and a large screw was inserted through his sacrum and into his L5 vertebral body. That was supported with Facet screws inserted through 2 smaller incisions on his back. All are minimally invasive and he should have 4-5 smaller scars.

BK are u a doctor? u seem to know a lot about it. how do u think tito will be after this surgery never the same or new and improved? who would u put ur money on?

I work closely with the surgeons in the OR who perform these operations. I think he will be able to fight without the back pain that he has complained about for some time. These patients take between 6-9 months to heal. Part of Tito's surgery is the same as Nate Quarry's and he came back to fight. But I think it will be the same Tito, a one-dimensional fighter who hasn't evolved his skills to handle the new breed of fighters.

interesting thanks for the info! i think titos game will improve because wrestling has a lot to do with ur back and core strength and i bet his shot will be a lot better if his back isnt hurting him.
