August 26th, 2014 – Flagship European Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, has completed the professional card for “BAMMA 16: Daley vs. Fernandes” with the signing of an opening Welterweight clash between James Bray and Sam Ferguson. Headlined by the notorious Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley against Brazilian Igor Fernandes, BAMMA 16 also presents 3 title fights: Mansour Barnaoui returns to defend the World Lightweight belt from American Michael Brightmon; Tom Duquesnoy faces challenger Ashleigh Grimshaw for the BAMMA World Featherweight title; while explosive Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards faces Shaun Taylor to defend the BAMMA Lonsdale British Welterweight title.
Other names of note include TUF star and Ronda Rousey training partner, Mike Wootten; and debuting Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Mike Grundy, alongside a host of UK talent.
The latest preliminary bout to be added pits James Bray (0-1) against Sam Ferguson (1-1). “Ruthless” James Bray hails from Anglesea in Wales and fights out of Pound MMA in Bangor and Brindley MMA in Runcorn. He lost his first professional fight to the heavily more experienced Ant Davis. Sam Ferguson has been competing since 2008 (at Amateur level), fighting out of Team Colosseum in Bolton. He scored a 1:26 TKO victory in his Professional debut, to be outstripped by the more established Dan Rushworth in his following fight.
