Randy really has an ass kicking coming to him in this one. He is well overmatched and lesnar should be the Favorite i see this fight being the passing of the torch per say for wrestlers in MMA that are dominate. Randy will most likely lose and it will be a theoretical passing of the torch to lesnar the next big thing in MMA and the most dominate wrestler in MMA. There is always chance but Randy will lose this one he can not stop lesnars takedowns nor can he keep a man of his size and strength down.

i'm sure randy see some holes in lesnars game that he thinks he can beat him with or he would not take this fight.

hope Couture takes this one , he should be the favorite for this fight , his all around game is good , his only problem could be that he has'nt fought in a while.

well put tim, randy is the better all around fighter by far, but can he handle lesnars strength? this should be a great fight. i think lesnar will dominate the fight like he did against herring. but hey you never know, randy might pull it off. you have to respect lesnar for taking the tough fights. while kimbo takes the easy road everytime.

Seriously what are you smoking???? are you both insane…If this fight goes down its because the UFC is making Randy fight this fight….there is alot at stake here for both fighters and the UFC…first off money this fight will draw millions, this fight will be the passing of the torch per say, this fight will be the biggest so far for Lesnar and will put him in line for a future title shot if he wins which he should. Randy can not match Lesnar sure he has holes in his game but Randy lacks the strenghth and the skills to do this. Mir was able to catch him in a knee bar but that was many months ago and lesnar is more experienced. Put it this way you have a guy that walks around come fight time at around 280 who is very very strong and fast against a man who walks around come fight time maybe 230 240, so he is already giving up 40 plus pounds…now throw into the mix Lesnars Size, Strength and speed and wrestling ability…that cant be matched..even though Randy is a great wrestler but he cant not physically match lesnar in any of these catagories so his only chance is to take him down and G&P ( dont see this happening due to Lesnars Size and strength and Speed he cant possibly be kept down. ) Or a Submission ( the only possiblity Randy has to win theoretically) or by Knock out ( will not happen Randy lacks power in his punches and lesnar is too big for him ) Prediction–Lesnar wins by KO or G&P. Randy can not match lesnar at all as Randy has too many weaknesses of his own in this fight against lesnar, he is overmatched in every physical catagory which means Randy is the underdog and while there is hope its doesnt look good for Randy if thi fight happens…Lesnar is just too damn much for him to handle.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Lesner is a monster! Randy (my personal hero of MMA) is a bad mofo but he has always dominated with superior wrestling as his foundation with the rest of his tools. He has been able to overcome stronger opponents (not that he isn't a horse!) with greater leverage and skill. I don't know that he can out wrestle Lesner given his skill and strength. Having said that, Randy is never more dangerous than when he is the underdog and I think that even with his record, he'll be the underdog in this match. I don't see Randy pulling this one out. However, this isn't a "retire in shame" sort of deal. This is not the first step in his "Matt Hughs retirement plan" in my book. I think Randy would destroy Nog and give a great fight to Fedor but Lesner is the bigger, younger, and stronger Randy. Lesner might win but he will never be the champion Randy was and is! Have I mentioned Randy is my MMA hero? lol. Enough of the love-fest. Good luck, Mr. Couture.

As i said this will be the passing of the torch per say…Lesnar is the next Big thing in MMA and will undoubtbly be UFC champ come mid to late next year. Although if he wins this fight many could consider him the UFC champ now.

Hey tim since when did Lesnar become the next big thing in the UFC , come on he only has three fights , and lacks experience , like i said before he has great potental but to say he's going to ko Couture is being a bit too confident,

tim what are you smoking?sounds like lesnars d**k, the guy is great but your all over him he lost to a shitty mir and beat a tough but middle of the pack hw in herring, wait and see how he does when he faces a top hw before crowning him.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Couture is one of the greatest fighters to ever put on the gloves, it's great to see him finally back. Unfortunately he is turning 45 soon and has been out of competition for months. I'm hoping he's still got whatever miracle was with him when he came back and fought Gonzaga and Sylvia to become top 2 heavyweight in the world in my opinion. Also not looking to promising for Couture is the fact that he is fighting what appears to be a brick wall that can wrestle. Lesnar has proved his immense power and ability to control his opponent once on the ground. His hands, as Herring found out in the first ten seconds, contain A-bombs but his punches looked incredibly slow. But he clearly has the ability to impose his will while on the ground. To beat Couture Lesnar has got to be much more practiced in jiu-jitsu and become more aggressive while controling his opponent. Lesnar had Herring's back multiple times but did not attempt to sink his hooks in or apply rear naked chokes. Also while in the few times Lesnar achieved full mount he did not attempt nearly as enough strikes. Im pulling for Randy and I think he could pull it off and show everyone he is still here to fight.

I see Randy winning by Guillotine or Rear Naked Choke

is this a title fight?…… isn't Randy technically still the champ? if so, does the winner of this fight the winner of nog vs mir?

i'm a little confused as to why lesnar would get this shot so soon….. if in fact it is a title shot?

LOL your all too funny come on Couture is great but seriously he CANT MATCH LESNAR physically which puts him well over his head in this one…True MMA fans will realize what Lesnar posseses and what a great threat he is to Randy and how overly match up this fight really is.. Randy is 6'1 and 228lbs while lesnar is 6'4 and 280..that factor alone is huge then put into the mix Lesnars Size, Strength, Speed and wrestling ability and explosivness and you really cant match this Nor how can you say Randy will choke him out??? HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF LESNAR NECK…he will just toss Randy around..the key is for Randy to keep lesnar on his back and this will not happen…Lesnar is simply to Strong for Randy to contain. I am a Randy fan but also a Lesnar fan and realisticly come on folks…Lesnar has this fight and is the Fav. you cant be comparing Gonzaga with Sylvia to Lesnar vary different fighters and Lesnar's Athletic Ability is far better than them overall. The only chance Randy has is a submission but this will be a war no doubt and very intriging fight but due to Lesnar overall Ability and Speed for a man his size i have to give it to Lesnar as the next UFC champ.

    September 2, 2008 at 7:09 am

i would lean toward lesnar in this fight only because of styles, i don't see randy as the champ anymore he has not fought in over a year and nog is the true champ so when lesnar fights nog than he will be fighting for the real title and he will lose to nog. i would not count randy out for this fight but he is not the hardest hitting or best submisions guy out there and i think that is needed to defeat brock but he could pull it off and hope he does.

again FRANK MIR beat him so Randy isn't in the same league as Mir is or is not as talented? he does not have the same chance as Frank did ? Hmm?

For the record, I really don't like Lesner. In fact if he ends up becoming the champ, it will lend merit to everything fans say about how low class and high promotion the UFC is becoming. He represents everything that is bad about MMA. Steriod packed, arrogent, and self centered. I hope he looses and looses big and has to eat crow in the middle of the octagon. Anyone can see that he is a force in MMA, albeit a boring lay-and-pray style fighter. Again, go Randy!

Steriods???? are you kidding me maybe before college but he was just as big in college as he is now and you can not dupe the NCAA doping policy and WWE had there own policy as well. Like him or not he is here to stay and you want to talk BAD…how about elite XC or Affliction enough said with that. Lesnar is young and very new to this sport so hate him if you will but he is only going to get better and your comparing him to someone with 10 plus years in this sport he only has 2, let him develope and become a great MMA fighter and for the time being i dont remember this being called WWE knock outs, its called MMA for a reason…Mixed Martial Arts and to win by any means necessary within reason…truth be told if lesnar ever develops into who he could be… he will be killing and literally killing fighters in the ring.

LOL Roy Big Nog is NOT the True champ u can say he is the interim Champ lol but that means that the real champ vacated the belt. Randy never lost the belt and I dont think he would have. Randy dominated Tim and Nog got the shit beat out of him by Tim but pulled off a submission and in no way do I think Nog is a better fighter than Tim Sylvia so i defintely disagree with u when u say he is the true champ ssince that is the opposite of what he is. Hell he hasnt even defended the belt.

  26. roy

    September 2, 2008 at 9:37 am

randy left over a year ago when has there ever been a interim champ for over a year, randy let the belt go nog is the true champ and will beat randy or lesnar when the fight takes place s[peak up than i would love to make a bet with you.

Hey, Tim, I totally respect what you are saying in regards to him being new to the sport. I guess from a maturity stand point, I hope he grows up a bit and learns to act like a gentleman after a victory. Truth be told I don't like it when anyone acts a fool after a win. And I agree with you that if he lives up to his potential he will be lethal in the ring. If he gets his ground game sorted out he will be a much better fighter to watch as well. I do still feel like he is a lay and pray guy…but that is my opinion. As for the roids, the WWE does have rules in place for that and plenty of wrestlers have come out to say that it is only on paper that those rules exist. Now, I am not saying conclusively that he has used them but I can tell you that people don't normally look like him or are as strong as he is without steriods. In my opinion, in order to get to be that size and that strong you have to be on steriods…or a bull rhino…or a John Deere tractor. Purely irriesponsible speculation on my part but it's what I believe. I will admit that he is tested prior to UFC fights and would like to know how long before a fight he is tested? I know he can be and most likely is tested just before or after a fight. That, however, doesn't preclude him from taking it…he has just not tested positively for them.

Lesnar is unproven, thats all im saying. Because he dominated a mid level fighter in Herring does not mean he is the real deal. I am a Lesnar fan and personnally i believe he could one day be the champ, But Randy is a better and smarter fighter than Mir so that comparison cant be made as in earlier comments. Also the size of his neck, while unreal big and muscular, does not really play a factor into locking on a choke. The strength/ size of his neck dont mean anything if Randy locks his arms in perfect position and squeezes like his life depended on it. I could see Lesnar winning the fight but im putting my money on Randy, one of the most proven, experienced and greatest fighters of all time, over Lesnar who has only had 3 fights. Randy should be the favorite and I think should take this fight.

Ina all honestly…i new lesnar back in 1999 2000 i wasnt close friends with him as i was just up in Minnesota for J Robinsons wrestling camp and he was there…Now the NCAA is very strict on steroids and lesnar has come out to say that he has never taken steroids per say and in the WWE at his time he didnt need to..you know there are other things to take to get you big and strong than steroids…Hmm the man grew up on a farm have you seen some old photos of him in HS and college the man was huge back then and is NATURALLY that big…just because someone is Muscularly huge and strong doesnt make them a doper and per say the UFC does drug tests after fights and you have probably seen that they post the results and have even suspended fighters ala Stephan Bonnar etc… the UFC doesnt do the testing the NEvada Athletic Commision does it so you cant get past them. The likely hood of Lesnar being on Steroids right now is ridiculously stupid and he would of obviously been caught by now…just accept it that there is someone out there who is huge, strong and fast. I also do not agree with his antics after winning but it sells and Lesnar is a great guy at least when i met him back in 99 and 00 when he was traing for his NCAA championship. The man is very credible and has nothing that can limit his potential…Skill wise we can talk for hours back and forth but shortly you cant compare Randy to Lesnar…he outmatches Randy in every catagory but Experience and Subs but Lesnar does have over 20 years of wrestling and not just any wrestling Div 1 NCAA championship and a 106-5…that is unheard of and i dont think Randy had that kind of wrestling record…not even close. Not to mention Lesnar was never pinned he only lost by points and a DQ for throwing his opponent on his neck in a match. Seriously if lesnar decides to utilize and he devolops all his abilities he will literally Kill fighters in the ring and i would be suprised that in another 2 years he does seriously injure or kill a fighter…shit he knocked Herring with a right overhand that sent him flying and messed up his eye bad real bad…just one punch now just images a few more years of training and working on his punches…that some serious power not to mention overall he is getting better daily…Randy is not the Favorite to win i guarentee you come betting time with Vegas… Lesnar will be the Fav and is and should win.

and remember randy got knocked out twice by chuck, then got a title shot against tim the chump sylvia. so yea randy was great and is definitely a better all around fighter then brock, and frank mir, but age is a big part of mma, and randy is old as dirt. i luv randy and everything he's done for mma but im not about to jump on his nuts cuz of who he is

Also word of advice be carefull who you talk to you never now who the other person is or what type of person they are. This is a site to post your opinions on fights not a trash talking place to waste space and other peoples time. So continue to disrespect people on here or in life as i know thats how you are. Truth be your probaly the Faghad or whatever you said. All i am saying is dont talk shit on people and call them fags when you have not the slightest clue as to who the other person your talking shit to realy is.
