The website Nokaut is reporting that ProElite Inc. has offered Fedor Emelianenko a four fight deal that could have him fighting on two “Saturday Night Fights” events on CBS.

A reliable source has confirmed ProElite, Inc. has offered Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko (27-1) a four-fight, 18-month contract.

A request for confirmation or comment from Jeremy Lappen, ProElite Head of Fight Operations, has been ignored.

The deal is reported to have Fedor to fight twice on CBS and twice on Pay-Per-View.

The contract calls for Emelianenko’s first two fights in the promotion to broadcast on American television network CBS as a part of the recently inked deal between ProElite and the TV giant.

The final two fights would air on pay-per-view and share proceeds with Emelianenko.

Emelianenko is currently partnered with M-1 Global, an MMA promotion formed solely to stage his fights.

UPDATE:

The Junkie has confirmed the deal and found out some more details:

  • The contract would run 18 months
  • Fedor will likely make $300,000 and $500,000 per fight.
  • Fedor will get cut of the two PPV events
  • Fedor brother Aleksander Emelianenko, will also get a contract.
  • Fedor will be announced as “M-1 Global’s Fedor Emelianenko”
  • First fight could be as soon as May 31 on CBS “Saturday Night Fights”

That would be a great deal for Fedor. I bet it all depends on weather Fedor is allowed to fight outside of the organization in Sambo.

If it is for 4 fights and 18 months, it looks like the Couture/Fedor fight will happen in EliteXC which is huge for them. I wouldn't be surprised if he also fought Kimbo Slice since it would be widely popular and since the talent pool to put up against Kimbo isn't real deep.

i doubt he will fight kimbo before he fights randy. i could see the first ppv against randy then the second against kimbo.

the cbs fights would be against some can and maybe AA if he gets picked up by elitexc.

i think kimbo has a better shot of KO'ing fedor then randy has at beating him any other way. fedor is still godlike until he loses but i see a greater risk of losing to kimbo.

i was thinking big tim might leave the ufc but really which promotion would pay for him when he is considered boring by most and doesnt pull in the ppv buys. he is still a top 10 heavy so i guess he has some value. i wouldnt mind seeing him fight fedor, alex, and kimbo.

Someone please remind me when the last time fedor actaully got in the ring, and at this point does anyone care. Couture is going to go/stay wherever Fedor ends up hoping to get a fight with him but like some of you already said when the hell is it going to be, a few months a year I mean what is it going to take. Slice should get the first crack at Fedor based on the fact that it would be like a #1 contender match to see who gets a shot at the champ. I am still yet to be impressed by slice beating up a few of the janitors from the arenas he was fighting in and I stress again who has fedor fought in the last two years. NOBODY so as far as I am concerned Coutures the man til someone shows me otherwise. and Mike your right no one in there right god damn mind would pay money to watch Tim Slyvia fight.

This would not be in the best interest for Fedor. This would tear his top fighter position into pieces, this is not wise if he takes it. I see fedor fighting in the U.F.C. because if Dana doesnt offer, then we see wasted talent. Kimbo does not have the complete MMA package, he wouldnt last in the fight against Fedor.

i would rather see him in the ufc but elite would be my second choice, at least we would get to see him fight for free on cbs where if he signs with dream we would not get any live events.if he did sigh with elite there would be the fight with randy and they have bigfoot silva who is not at fedors level but may give a good fight, kimbo would be good as far as numbners i don't think kimbo is ready for him though and they are trying to sign AA and maybe get tim or barnett and they would have alot of the top h.w. talent.

wow, ufc better step up their game. ufc were being dicks and didn't want to work with anyone. now, if elitexc signs fedor, it'll mark the downfall of ufc…. elitexc might even sign andrei arvlovski next, since the ufc hasn't resigned him yet. then we can see arlovski vs fedor. and when it's july, then we'll see randy vs fedor. and by then, kimbo will have enogh fights to fght fedor.

I don't think it would hurt his HW status by going to Elite. He would have the opportunity to fight Barnett, CroCop, and maybe Arona in Elite. In the UFC he could fight Arlovski (he'll resign), Silvia, Nogiera, and the rest. So either organization has great HW matchups. The UFC has more depth but that could change.

If he signs he won't be fighting Kimbo any time soon. Both are big draws and a loss for either is not good for business. If he signs the 4 fight deal I would expect that they might have a Kimbo vs. Fedor match on the 4th fight. Kimbo still needs to develop into an all around fighter.

i see it the same way realwun the kimbo fight would be last, i don't see him signing with ufc as much as i would like him to i think dana has pissed him off to much but who knows?

dana would never sign kimbo. fedor has too much ground experience for kimbo… way too much. fedor-kimbo would look a hell lot like silva-houston, only worse.

i think dana would sign kimbo, cause he is about making money and kimbo does draw in people as far as kimbo vs fedor i agree with you derek but i think alot of people would watch it.

cause fedor is a fucking pussy..and randy or fedor would walk throw kimbo with in the first min..

tom, i would love to see fedor walk through kimbo. you have to admit we all idolize kimbo, not because he is has great mma, but because he has one punch power and finishes his fights within 2 minutes. even his bare knuckle youtube fights dont even last. so yeah, i am dead curious to see what fedor would do to neutralize kimbo's striking…. probably take him to the ground and armbar, but what i would like to see more is fedor knocking kimbo out… since nobody has been able to do it. and fedor is not a pussy; he just goes where the money is and chooses to fight mediocre competition. fedor has fought good competition though — nogeira, crocop.. come on, give him credit! and crocop is due back to the UFC later this year, NOT at elite xc. barnett is off fighting in another org that is NOT elite xc. so technically, elite xc has no good heavyweights, not even kimbo when you mention fedor in the same sentence. and andrei arlovski is NOT resigned yet with the ufc. he was offered a deal for elite xc however.

fedor should listen to his fans and fight an OPEN WEIGHT tournament in one night in the following order —

kimbo slice (just for a warmup…)

    chuck liddell

    anderson silva

    randy couture

    wanderlei silva

I'm so sick of people running their mouths and calling fedor a pussy. Any one of you people would be doing the same thing he is. This is his career and he is trying to sign a contract with people who pay him what hes worth, which obviously 90% of the people in America who watch mma have no idea what that is. People here in the US are all about the UFC and Dana "Asshole" White. They have no idea who anyone is outside of the UFC and yet they run their mouths about who the best fighter in the world is. None of you like working for an oppressive dick head so stop expecting Fedor to do the same. I love Randy couture to death but I'm at least sensible enough to know he is going to get pummeled by Fedor and then everyone can just shut up about it.

I think that Fedor will Not join Elite Just for the fact that the rules . in the U.S are different from what he is use to, besides the couture fight there is no competion in Elite xc. he will join Dream which allows him to fight top rank fighters from around the world. Kimbo slice no real MMA experience , would last a round with Fedor
