Stitch Duran Talks Greasing and New Corner Rule Changes

Legendary cut man “Stitch” Duran demonstrates how a corner man could contaminate a fighter with vaseline. He also explains new corner rules being implemented by the athletic commissions. Basically only independent cut men will be the only one greasing up fighter before and during fights.

it gave him a advantage but no it did not win the fight for him, he did that on his own.

GSP won the fight. GSP had an unfair advantage due to the Jackson camps dirty tricks. BJ probably would have lost but that does not excuse the intentionally applied illegal lube. If GSP is such a superior fighter then why did his corner feel that it was necessary to give him an unfair advantage? Why isn't GSP being berated for cheating like BJ is for crying foul?

GSP didnt cheat…..bottom line hands down GSP won that fight fair and square the minimal amount of lube per say applied to a small spot on the back and chest of GSP didnt have any impact into the fight whatsoever…if that were the case your telling me that the lube won the fight for GSP…shit no BJ is just a piece of shit, loud mouth rich boy who cant accept defeat. But yes was there a breaking of the rules per say Yes but no on GSP part it was on his training camp…..exactly i agree with the new rules thats what they need one man only applies the lube and leaves end of story and end of this drama…BJ will not fight GSP again its all talk…as BJ he would get his ass handed to him again.

    Fedor24 get real

"intentionally applied illegal lube. If GSP is such a superior fighter then why did his corner feel that it was necessary to give him an unfair advantage?"

Oh I dont know, maybe If they feel hes so superior that might have applied it by ACCIDNET? MAYBE?

"Why isn’t GSP being berated for cheating like BJ is for crying foul?"

Have you ever been to and internet MMA forum? The BJ fans are all over GSP in them forums

I get so sick of everyone saying GSP cheated or GSP would never cheat. Shut the fuck up all ready. you dont know GSP. None of you know his corner. And none of you know BJ Penn. stop acting like you do. all you know is the persona they put on when they are infront of a camera. you dont know who they are or whats goin on behind the scenes. like people who say oh gsp lost to matt hughes the first time because he was star struck it was his idle. Fucking ignorant. that's what GSP said some people automatically take it as truth. the fact is all we can judge is the way they fight and the way we THINK they are. leave it up to the proffesionals who are investigating this before making uneducated comments. im just glad this problem has been takin care of so we wont have to listen to the bitching from either sife of the arguement. im so sick of hearing about the lube scandal.

With all due respect No we dont know the fighters personally but based upon how they present themselves in front of the camera and with interviews we as fans can dtermine how to percieve the fighters wether or not its true…you see as fans we have the privlegde of basing our opinions of a fighter solely upon how they present themselves in front of the camera and in public and with interviews and based upon what we have seen GSP is a class act and BJ is a spoiled brat…but i do agree i with on this fact we still do not know the fighters on a personal level so therefore we may not truly know the fighter as they appear. But i glad this is over as well. End of story.

GSP would probably still beat BJ but you guys can't say that the vaseline didn't give him an advantage. What more do you guys want to admit that it was an advantage? This video was unbiased and basically showed that GSP's camp rubbed it on unintentionally but it was still an advantage.

GSP finally made his mark in MMA history and it's sad to say that the result is a new vaseline rule. He will probably go on and have one of the most successful MMA careers ever, and will be remembered as one of the best fighters of all time, but this rule change will stick with him forever and it's sad because I truly believe it wasn't his fault.

Sorry guys but it's far from over because you know everytime Goldberg or Rogan brings up the vaseline rule, it's because of GSP and his camp. Some of you will turn the other cheek and dismiss it when you hear it but not me. For example, everytime I see the horse collar tackle in the NFL, I think of Cowboys safety Roy Williams immediately except this now illegal move has more street cred than greasing up.

This is a little unrelated, and Tim, I am not singling you out because MANY other people have said it. They call BJ a "Spoiled rich kid." I can understand the spoiled part. In his case, not so much because I haven't seen him really act in a way I could call spoiled. But the rich kid part is what bothers me. So, because his family has money, he is automatically an asshole. Maybe because his family has money, he shouldn't be allowed to fight. Yeah, that would be fair, because then he wouldn't piss all of us non-rich people off. That fucker. Sorry, had to ge that off my chest. Roy, that web page is a good post. It gives a nice point of view. We can all see from what Stench did, the amount of grease could be significant, but I agree with most of you, the fight more than likely would have gone the same way. GSP has the skill AND the strength, and it overwhelmed BJ. Maybe he knew, maybe he didn't. I personally have never seen a GSP fight where I thought something was fishy.
