Strikeforce: ‘Barnett vs. Cormier’ Highlights

Undefeated Olympian Daniel Cormier lived up to the hype last night as he beat a crafty veteran in Josh Barnett in a five round battle for heavyweight gold in the Strikeforce Grand Prix. Also, top lightweight Gilbert Melendez had his hands full with the third fight against his nemesis Josh Thompson.

He has but i have to admit that I was surprised. I did not think that Cormier could pull this one off. I would like to see if Josh still has some gas in the tank or not. He did not look good. Is it because he is old and done, rusty due to not fighting frequently, or has just been around to long and MMA has taken a toll on him. It has to be one of these 3 because he did not look like the Josh of old. I would like to see Cormier and Josh in the UFC.

I was shocked that it was so one-sided. Josh Barnett has gotten used to manhandling people, throwing his weight on them, and grinding out wins. I think he did look a little slower but I’m leaning more toward Cormier just looking great in the fight. He showed that he is an elite athlete.
