Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker discussed the strong possibility that the worlds best heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko (31-1) will likely take on former UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum (13-4-1) at the next Strikeforce on CBS card on April 17th. According to Coker the fight has not been officially finalized.

Also expected on the card, Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields will face Dan “Hollywood” Henderson for the Strikeforce belt.

Fabricio Werdum was not the UFC heavyweight champion.

Regardless, this should be an interesting match-up, however I see Fedor taking this one with ease.

Good thing Fedor believes he has "nothing to prove" because this fight means nothing.

i dont know about easy, i think fedor will win but werdum will give him abit of trouble. When fedor wins, like after every1 of his wins people will just say it means nothing untill he goes to the ufc.

Pretty much… the man has no more interesting fights outside of the UFC IMO.

I think Fedor will connect on that chin and put him out. Werdum is a primarily a BJJ guy his stand up is not great and fedor will connect on that chin

This is kind of a mismatch Hendo is much bigger than Shields. Shields best weight is 170 to fight at. Hendo walks around 210. Why did Jake even take this fight

Jake has to take this fight. He is the Middleweight champion. I think 170 is his best weight, the way he handled Paul Daley in Elite XC shows that it is his best weight. He had Mayhem Miller on the ground in dangerous positions and couldn't find a way to finish. Mayhem has 'retard strength' but Hendo is a very strong guy at 185.

I think Fedor will win, but i dont think its as much of a mis-match as people make it out to be. Werdum has a good chin (took some solid shots from 'Bigfoot'), a world class ground game. But he is a little crazy, he comes forward standing square a lot (thats how he got caught a few times by Bigfoot, and how he got KO'd by Dos Santos). Werdum has to be patient, Fedor is always patient, all the ingredients for a boring Heavyweight contest.

Fedor by either early KO or Decision (if Werdum plays it safe like he did against Arlovski).

Hendo via (hopefully) 2nd straight brutal KO.
