should be great. cung le is 5-0 as a MMA fighter and the 21-0 is his san sho record.

The only thing I can say after watching that fight is

    "Ow"

I doubt if Frank Shamrock will be playing XBox anytime soon.

what kind of arm injury? did it happen after an arm bar? or did cung do some move where frank broke that arm?

  8. Neo

    March 29, 2008 at 1:40 pm

broken or dislocated. not sure. but definitely due to repeated kick after kick after kick. arm had to give up eventually

the fight is on youtube already for anyone that wants to see it. cung actually owned frank with tons of punches and leg kicks for all 3 rounds. cung did get rocked briefly in round 3, but he recovered and came back with his own stuff. the striking ability difference was really clear — cung is just on a different level. i would love to see him fight anderson silva. i don't know why shamrock didn't try to take cung le down.

I thought it was fitting after all of the BS shamrock was pulling during the fight that he got beat down. I mean seriously cut the crap and fight already….Shamrock got what he deserved after his repeated shows of arrogance!

There is no doubt in my mind Anderson Silva would knock Cung Le out in round 1. He is no where near Anderson's level and if he stood and banged with a striker like Silva he would be seeing stars in a very short amount of time.

Cung was out of rhythm and a little nervous for the first 2 minutes of the first and Frank should have put it on him then, but he decided to play…for 2 rounds. Cung is a top notch fighter on the feet, so Frank should have taken him down. I don't know if Frank can shoot like he wants to but there were some times where he was close, could have grabbed a clinch and tried for a takedown. Frank lost by both arrogance and the great striking of Cung Le.

I overheard Frank said his arm was broken and I'm not suprised, he took a lot of shots to the forearm.

I have to hand it to Frank I am always entertained by his antics but in this fight he went overboard. You don't deliver a great strike and them stop to taunt the opponent…you should try to finish. I really hope Cung can put together a ground game.

Great fight!! Cudos to both fighters. I enjoyed this event and I didn't have to watch a hour of promos during the event.

this was an amazing fight my hat is off to both fighters. i would love to see the rematch with frank checking his ego at the door and trying a lot harder for the takedown. but he did show he could strike with cung. he ahd some great body kicks to cungs midsection and the first round was pretty even imo. round 2 and 3 was all cung but i was way impressed with shamrock comming back and rocking cung late in the third. the last 30 seconds of that fight was out of this world. i would love to see anderson vs cung

cung le was lucky if shamrock came to fight instead of playing around with le ,that's what u get a broken arm lol, anybody with a stand up and ground game and wont be stupid and not try for a take down and be baited by le in the press build that fighters can't stand with him (sham, freak fricklend suckers) will finish le. shamrock should have finished him when he rocked le twice . morey said it best in the in last phrase. A.Silva would take le out in the 1st round easly with no problem.

Cung Le will knock Anderson Silver out. Anderson Silva is no match for Cung Le striking ability.

  19. Nicks

    March 30, 2008 at 5:01 am

Le vs Silva could be a nice highlight for Silva. Anderson is the more tested and dangerous man inside the ring. Le got some very fast kicks and I hear he can grapple but haven't seen that yet. Saying Silva is no match for Cung Le because he beat a mostly submission fighter in Frank Shamrock is plain crazy. Anderson doesn't play he feels you out and then drops bombs till you tap or get knocked out.

  20. derek

    March 30, 2008 at 5:55 am

the thing will silva is that he feels u out for the first few minutes, then starts throwing ridiculously accurate punches, and then increases in volume. then adds in the knees of course and the muay thai clinch. cung le should be able to keep at distance. le has grappling experience; but in 1998, when he won the bronze medal in san shou, he beat two opponents by submission — one of them was by foot lock, the other i can't remember. i still don't know why shamrock didn't even try to take le to the ground. that is shamrock's forte… his ground game. he got completely owned and outclassed in the striking department.

"Cung Le will knock Anderson Silver out. Anderson Silva is no match for Cung Le striking ability."

jt money you must be high or something??? To say Silva is no match for Cung Le is just rediculous. I think it's the other way around. Silva is the much deadlier striker in my opinion and is better at just about every aspect of fighting. I'm don't think Cung Le would stand much of a chance against guys like Rich Franklin or Dan Henderson much less Anderson Silva.

    March 30, 2008 at 7:10 am

cung le has great striking ability because of not only his punches and millions of kicks, but his ability to throw and trip in close quarters. check out round 3 where he tripped shamrock badly. anderson silva does things differently– throws punches, limited kicks, clinches, and loves knees. both are very good, but completely different strikers. i can't compare grappling. i know silva is a BJJ black belt. cung le probably has a white belt, but im sure he isn't a houston alexander in BJJ.

there is no basis for anderson will knock out cung. cung has never lost. so no one knows the formula for being cung yet…………….. so please. anderson silva is a beast though. he made dan henderson look like on another level.

In an MMA fight Anderson takes it. In a standing battle it will be a war and I think Cung Le would win that. Everyone wants to crown the new star already but remember, he hasn't proven his ground game like Anderson yet.

  28. tom

    March 30, 2008 at 3:46 pm

mma silva will kill him and in striking it would be good but silva would still win..cung kick and punched frank like 100 times and frank look ok ..chris leban has a hard head and got knock out with under 10 punchs throw and chris was out and look at Dan he was so close about being knock out from of andersons punch and yall are crazy silva would win but it would be good but silva would take it

jhoney, rebait watch the fight in the first 1rnd shamrock rocks le and goes for a slight chock hold then like a dummy he lets him goes and smiles at him ,don't get me wrong he did get his ass whooped. but if he would of came to fight which THE SPIDER WILL le would be no match for A.Silva.Do your homework kids he made The grippler look like a 6-o fighter lol, and hendo like a new wrestler to the sport ,and man handled the Ace-man which he stated to dana w. man that dude is strong it felt like i was training with the heavy wieght guys like T.syilva

Whoever thinks CUNG stands a chance against SILVA is a little to close to retardation and should not be allowed to operate a computer. The fight was great in effect that FRANK kept his stupid promise and kept it standing but had chances to take the fight to the ground where he could have finished it. But he took about 10 kicks to the forearms every round from a world class striker. But SILVA!!! not a chance FRANKLIN tried using high kicks against him in the 2nd fight he dipped and dodged them like RICH was an amature. SILVA lands too many clean hits for CUNG every time FRANK landed something clean CUNG was rocked back. FRANK was absorbing most of CUNG's strikes until his arm gave out. You can't absorb a SILVA strike that has been proven.

frank just doesn't seem to want to fight to win he wants to put on a show. maybe he should have joined the wwe. i think sam morgan showed some of cung's weaker points on the ground in the last fight.

frank ran his mouth, ended up saying he would stand and trade the whole time, and his pride made him do that even though he must have known le was winning the standup battle and the rounds.

    March 31, 2008 at 2:58 am

i enjoyed the fight and was glad cung won i would live to see the rematch, i was surprised that frank never realy tried to take it to the ground i don't know if it was his ego, heart, or sutpidity maybe all of them.i agree with most of you that silva would beat cung or frank but i would love to see him do that since the ufc dosn't real have anyone else to offer silva maybe a rematch against dan and thats there only real comp for him at that weight.i would like to see silva fight frank lindland and cung.

  35. Nicks

    March 31, 2008 at 11:02 am

The more I think about this fight the stranger it seems.

Shamrock did no takedown attempts at all. Alot of people are saying Frank bet on himself to lose and then cashed in. I'm not there yet…but after a good first round and then the next 2 rounds its like Frank stop throwing and just wanted to absorb those shots. He had Cung in trouble more then just once and never bother to go in for the finish he just let him recover.

Would like to see a rematch but who knows when or if thats gonna happen by time he gets healed.

Tito didn't take Liddell down. That's a work!

  37. Kash

    April 1, 2008 at 3:45 am

I don't think it was a work, Frank is too cocky to take a loss like that. I say lets get this rematch underway because I want to see these two go at it again.

  38. roy

    April 1, 2008 at 4:28 am

i agree kash no way is frank throwing a fight,he just beleaved he could beat le standing or that if he had to he could submit him at anytime but did not get the chance.

  39. tom

no they need a rematch big time frank had that choke in the first
