Strikeforce: Fedor Down With Dropping To 205

The one time greatest heavyweight in the world, Fedor Emelianenko sound like he is willing to drop down to light heavyweight if Strikeforce asks.

MF: Do you consider dropping to light heavyweight? And possibly fight Dan Henderson for the light heavyweight title?

F: yes i have talked about it with my manager Vadim Finklestein. But as far as i know, there is no offer made by Strikeforce to fight as a light heavyweight.

MF: What is your reaction about Zuffa taking over Strikeforce? Did you saw it comming? Did M-1 know about it?

F: the Strikeforce Heavy weight tournament will continue and the fighters will keep on fighting for Strikeforce. I consider myself a fighter and thats my focus. All other things are for my management.

MF: Were you suprised by it?

F: i was not really surprised. For me it makes no difference for which organisation im fighting as long as i can fight.

Fedor’s always been a flabby light heavyweight posing as a heavyweight, that was part of the mystic about him. But with heavyweights like Brock Lesnar, Bigfoot Silva and others pushing the weight limit of the division, its going to be hard for the lighter guys to make any headway.

I hope he is serious about dropping down to 205. I think he still has some gas in the tank but he just couldn't get it done against bigger opponents. I think he would be a monster at 205, in Strikeforce or the UFC.

haha…shark fights, good one. i think its time for him to drop. not only was he losing to true heavyweights but to guys who were barely making the 265 maximum. a good right hand won't make up for that advantage.
