Strikeforce News: Josh Thompson Out Of Title Defense With Gilbert Melendez With Broken Leg

Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thompson, has been forced out of his title defence fight against Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce “Shamrock vs. Diaz” on April 12, due to a broken leg. Strikeforce has yet to announce a replacement for Thomson.

“I was sparring hard and I broke my leg, above my ankle, during an exchange …. I’m very upset. All the hard work was done and it was time to fight …. I was looking forward to putting on a great show for the fans. All I can say is that I’ll be back when I get healthy.” [Press Release]

    that really sucks, i hope they find a repalcement because i would still like to see gilbert on the card, i hope josh is not out a long time.
