In a recent press call, Strikeforce announced that Blunt smoking lightweight Nick Diaz will take on MMA veteran Frank Shamrock in the main event of Strikforce’s April 11th card in San Jose, CA. Given the fighters difference in weight, the fight will take place at a catch weight of 179lbs.

Strikeforces promoter Scott Coker said KJ Noons was offered a title unification bout with Strikeforces lightweight champion Josh Thomson, but it is not official.

Also, fighters Mitsuhiro Ishida (17-4-1), who defeated Gilbert Melendez in 2007, and former UFC/TUF fighter Jorge Gurgel (12-5) are possible opponents for Melendez.ok

Anyone heard the rumor that sherk is going down to 145 to fight in the wec when his ufc contract is up?

I think Shamrock will win too. I can't wait to see the head games Shamrock tries to pull leading up to the fight.

Sherk might as well go down to 145. I'm sure without the 'supplements' he can lose a couple of extra pounds of muscle. I'd like to see Faber and Sherk mix it up.

damn if thats true sherk vs faber could be epic. i think sherk could take faber judging on how faber lost to tyson griffin. but mma math hardly ever works it would be a great fight. if sherk can make the weight i think he will be champ.

sherk is huge. i dont see how he's going to get down another 10 pounds. that would be a good matchup faber and sherk. i still think faber would pull out a win.

Thats cool if they do fight but Frank is much bigger than Nick and that will probally play a big role in this one.

yep, frank will be too much for diaz. i would also like to see sherk and brown. brown is the champ now and he is a big 145er. i don't know though, i still think sherk can beat most of the 155ers in the ufc besides penn. I know kenfol has improved but i still think sherk is too strong for him. I would love to see sherk and deigo.

Popular female fighters Gina Carano (7-0) and Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos (6-1) could also meet at the strike force event.

I still think Josh tompson vs Gilber 2 might happen..Kj will turn the fight down with Josh

KJ is in no position to turn down fights. He hasn't been active for a while now and Josh Thompson is a great opponent for him. I really hope this fight happens KJ is a great fighter and Thompson always brings it in to the ring.

Carano vs. Santos could be happening? …. Cool. I heard Dana White say he would have Gina Carano in the WEC, oh well missed out on a great chance there, for once Zuffa dont have complete control over this sport.

KJ and josh going at it in the stand up would be awesome to see. Josh could always take that one to the ground almost at will though. I hope kj is working on takedown defense hard b/c most ppl will be trying to take him down. JT has a beef with Frank and if Frank and Josh win maybe they will fight eachother. Wishful thinking.

I got a place you can put that finger Nick! Enough with the attitude , just kick that pompass Franks ass. Show me you still have SOMETHING left. By the way I think Nate won his last fight, you guys should learn that left in the judges hands, they will dog you guys everytime. Do Nate a favor & teach him to submit or ko every opponent. Judges can't stand the Diaz brothers.

    Good Luck Dog !
