Overeem looked pretty terrible tonight. I think Werdum got the better of the striking game. Overeem won because basically you have to call it a takedown when Werdum falls on his butt even it came from a small nudge from Overeem. But in terms of number of strikes, submission attempts, and ground strikes Werdum took it.

ok i hope this confirms the ufc hw's are on another level than the garbage i watched tonight. overeem looked slow and werdum was a complete joke and should have lost points for wasting so much time in the ground. and like always the commentating was garbage. mauro is so annoying and saying takedowns shouldnt score if you get right back up is idiotic. and i think someone said the winner of the tournament is the greatest hw on the planet. that was hilarious. last couple strikeforces were pretty good but i thought this one kinda sucked. jorge masvidal looked impressive

I have to agree dude. I thought Overweem would be impressive and Rogers vs. Barnett would be competitive. I think Big Foot Silva would be a great competitor in the UFC but other than that I don't see those guys beating Junior Dos Santos or Cain Velasquez.

This for sure proved UFC heavyweights are miles ahead of strikeforce. Hopefully this puts to rest the idea of the grand prix winner fighting the UFC champ. Strikeforce has some good fighters and has put on some good shows but their heavyweights are one dimensional and the top guys in the UFC would pick them apart. Disappointing night o fights.

No matter who wins the tournamnet, I would still like to see the wiinner face the UFC champ. It was not a good main event but you Josh looked good he dominated every second of that match. Now of course, you can put Rodgers in the same category with Kimbo and Houston, they have absolutely no ground game but nonetheless, Josh got the sub. It looked like AO was overly worried about Werdum's sub skills and he fought tentative. It was good to see Noons lose again. I can't stand him but more than anythingl, he thinks he can come in and win MMA matches with mainly boxing- he needs to work on the rest of his game. How sad was AO's brother? i can't even think of his name but that guy should give it up after last night's match.

i didn't even think josh barnett had a bad event. i think he was wearing rogers down in the first and finished in the third. its not like it went to a decision.

i think the ufc champ vs. the strikeforce hw champ would be a good match. if overeem manages to win the tournament i could almost guarantee that will happen. but barnett and big foot silva would be good matchups too.

i don't think you can entirely blame overeem, i remember anederson looking bad in fights where guys would just be defensive. it rememinding of the damien fight alot. overeem will look better and the only ufc hw that might be on a different level is cain no one esle has proved to be that much better than these guys.

Velasquez and Dos Santos are much better fighters than anyone in this tournament. There are other guys in the UFC much more deserving of a shot then anyone in strikeforce. There is a reason these guys aren't in the UFC and its not because they are up and coming fighters. Plus you can't pull all of the top fighters out of strikeforce and run it as an independent organization like Zuffa said they are going to. If every time someone in strikeforce wins a title you throw them in the UFC your going to drain strikeforce's talent pool which isn't very deep to begin with.

who is more deserving in the ufc? shaub nog? i have seen dos santos and cain have lack luster fights dos santos could not stop nelson or carwin(andrei k.o ed nelson brock submitted carwin) who has cain fought a old nog a not so good one dimensional striker who almost ko ed him and a old rookie who dosn't like to get hit.

The top 5 or 10 heavyweights in the UFC are better than the entire strikeforce hw roster thats why they are in the UFC. Werdum got cut because Dos Santos knocked him out Barnett got cut went to Japan to juice up. Overeem just put on one of the worst fights I've seen in his career. Im sure everyone that is saying the strikeforce hw champ should get the shot was saying Fador was the worlds number one fighter and would knock out any UFC hw just a year ago. there is a reason these guys aren't in the UFC right now

the top 5-10 ufc hw LOL name them. werdum did not get cut for losing to dos santos he got cut for complaining barnett would beat every hw in the ufc except for maybe 2.

Barnett beats all but 2 heavyweights in the UFC. That might be a huge stretch. The guy isn't that impressive at all. I think he would get eaten alive by the UFC's talent. Werdum I think would do alright but still think he would eventually get swallowed up by the UFC's talent. Overeem I still believe is the real deal. I know he didn't have that good of performance but I still think that he's the real deal. I don't think he could beat Dos Santos or Velasquez but I think he could hold his own against some very talented people. I would actually like to see him fight against someone like Frank Mir.

i think overeem, werdum, barnett, and especially big foot silva would do some real damage in the ufc. i don't know if overeem could stand against the wrestling talent of cain velasquez. werdum needs to let his hands go more but he showed against great strikers that he can fall. barnett is well rounded but put him up against a better wrestler and he will lose. big foot silva seems to be the most dangerous of the pack (unless overeem just looked like crap the other day) and is a problem for everyone. he has size, striking and a pretty good ground game.

i could be wrong but who is so much better in the ufc? cain dos santos yeah maybe those too i think they still need to fight these guys to prove it. who else do they got carwin? he has 2 decent wins gabe(where do you rate him) and mir. lesnar big guy strong wresltler but has been exposed will still win some fights but lose plenty too(plus surgery and he is not young). mir solid hw but not top 5. nog i am a big fan of but he is past his prime. i know they have some other tough guys nelson, rothwell, shuab a]nd some more that i am forgetting but barnett, overeem, werdum, bigfoot would fit right in there at the top of the ufc and hopefully we sill see who the best hw is before too much more time passes.

i still think overeem has plenty to prove but one fight does not mean everything i remember cote, maia and i forget the other guy who made anderson look bad and 2 of those guys are not even in the ufc anymore or are rated mw's.

good sum up roy i think the strikeforce heavyweights would do well in the ufc. i think as the hw tournament goes on we'll see more of what strikeforce heavy's bring to the table.

Josh Barnett is nothing but a steroid. Sums up his entire career.

barnett has been a cheat and got caught. but if he passes his medical from the last fight i think he looked pretty good.

There is no doubt that the talent that the UFC has and the events that they hold, are better than any current or past promotion. However, that does not mean that other promotions do not have good fights. Even Bellator has a couple great fighters that could compete in the UFC. Of all their weight classes, the SF HWTS would do great in the ufc.
