The New UFC 156 Video is Out: Aldo versus Edgar on Preview

Jose “Scarface” Aldo will return to fight once more at UFC 156 and this time he challenges Frankie Edgar at the Octagon. UFC has released a preview video for this event which is scheduled to take place at the Mandalay Bay in Nevada, Las Vegas, United States on February 2, 2013. The title fight will be headlined by Aldo versus Edgar and another co-main event will be a match between Alistair Overeem and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in the heavyweight division and Rashad Evans versus Antonio Rogerio Noguiera.

Jose “Scarface” Aldo is a 26 year old featherweight from Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. He currently holds a 21 win and only 1 loss professional career. His last fight was a win over Chad Mendes in a headline fight in UFC 142 in January 2012. This was a fantastic show of fighting expertise and strength in the part of Aldo as he was able to KO Mendes in 4 minutes and 59 seconds of round one. Before this he won over impressive fighter Kenny Florian at UFC 136 in October 2011 via unanimous decision. If he wins over Edgar on February, this will be his 15th consecutive win. He last loss to Luciano Azevedo in Jungle Fight 5 in 2005 via submission in the middle of the second round.

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar on the other hand is a featherweight fighter from Toms River, New Jersey Country, United States.  He has 14 wins, 3 losses and only 1 draw. His last fight was a loss against Benson Henderson in a second headline fight at UFC 150 in August 2013 via split decision. Before this, he also faced Henderson on the Octagon but with the same results in UFC 144 in February 2012. Before his back to back loss against Henderson, Edgar has enjoyed 6 consecutive wins and a draw fighting great fighters like Gray Maynard, BJ Penn (twice), Matt Veach, Sean Sherk and Hermes Franca.

UFC 156 is an event to watch out for. Even if this still less than a month away, fans are really looking forward to the entire UFC 156 fight card. The latest news on the fight is that Erick Silva has forced to withdraw from his fight against Jay Heiron due to an injury. Heiron will be facing Strikeforce veteran Tyron Woodley.
