Sonnen and Griffin met years ago in September 2003 however Griffin won after a first round submission choke. Sonnen commented on the match0up: “Many years ago, I fought with a gentleman, and I lost. I became a fan of him; I saw him in a championship. I saw him etch in stone as a hall of famer.” Sonnen also recalled that Griffin was the only fighter that Jon Jones has not beaten. He also expressed his joy on having the opportunity to fight Griffin in December. “That will be at light heavyweight. There is something to be said about earning your spot in the sport and on December 29, I am going to do that.”

Chael Sonnen is a fighter from Portland, Oregon, USA. He is currently a middleweight and has 27 wins, 12 losses and 1 draw in his career. His recent loss was against Anderson Silva at UFC 148, a headliner wherein Silva finished him with a knee to the body technical at only 1 minute and 55 seconds at round 2 of the match. This was his second loss to Silva; his first was at UFC 117 in another headliner. Silva then gave him a triangle armbar move to finish the fight in submission at 3 minutes and 10 seconds of the final round. But even with his dramatic losses to Silva, Sonnen has several impressive wins to take note of. He has beaten Michael Bisping, Brian Stann, Yushin Okami, Dan Miller and Nate Marquardt to name a few.

Here we go again Ra chael now since you lost to silva what makes you think you could possibly end up in a fight with jones and win?. You must be trult dillusional to even have that thought. But i guess the dictator has something to do with this because he is all about what will bring in the PPV money. Of course hendo is gonna loose to jones then the hype will be for Ra chael to fight jones. What a joke,i am totally done with paying for any PPV, i will just read about it the next day. I know the dictator does not like that but i am hearing the same thing from alot of my friends.
