Tito Ortiz Passes On Affliction, Set Eyes On Strikeforce and CBS

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz in a recent interview talks about passing on Affliction MMA in favor of Strikeforce and CBS.

With the Affliction 3 rumored to counter program UFC 100 and Tito Ortiz shying away from Afflictions big money, this could only be a sign of the end for Affliction MMA.

Tito, Tito, Tito… He seems to have been given tremendous opportunities–coaching TUF, Celebrity Apprentice, title shots, lots of promotion (despite his complaints otherwise), yet he's continued to let greed get in his way by burning some very important bridges (relations between Dana and the Fertitta's) as well as make endless excuses why he doesn't win fights anymore. How many times have we heard trash-talking Tito promise to annihilate his opponent and that he's "100%"–Tito loves his percentages–only to see him get knocked out or out-worked? Tito has a lot of potential still–but I agree with Dana–Tito's heart isn't in it. That's not to say Tito's a bad guy–maybe if he'd played his cards right he could commentate for the UFC (like Couture, Florian, and Sherk). I wonder if Jenna is sick of his excuses–that kind of thing wears thin.

Strikeforce has nothin but UFC drop outs… no top fighters. At least Affliction has 1 in Fedor but he has no more competition and has to go to the UFC unless he wants to retire early.

well if he keeps making excuses for a few more years he may just have to retire hes already tettering on the verge of not mattering anymore in the fight game, his last fight was machiada and that was what over a year ago at least?

Tito really got a lot of fns into mma and got them to order the PPVs to see him fight. Sure he hasnt won as much as he had wanted and he doesnt fight with the crazy intnesity that he use to but hell its different fighting with anger and emotion when you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. He was on top for a long time and when he annihilated people it was back when he had nothing. He has stuff now and really doesnt need to fight. So yeah Dana is right Titos heart isnt in it. But look he realy beat Rashad by rounds and he lost to Machida. He beat Forrest. So its not like he isnt doing a decent job fighting. He is fighting the very top of the heap in the toughest division in mma and for the most part holding his own. We are all just spoiled after seeing him talk the smack and back it up to now just being a top 5-6 fighter and not the #1 or 2 guy. For the record I didnt think he sounded that bad announcing. I mean Joe Rogan says some dumb shit sometimes as well
