For a guy who doesn’t like boo’s, Rashad sure doesn’t make the best choice of words to win over fans. Earlier today in the pre-fight press conferenece for UFC on FOX 2, Rashad Evans used a Jerry Sandusky reference to threaten Phil Davis. Whitty or in poor taste, you be the judge.
“Suga” told Davis:
“I’ll bet you won’t be able to put your hands on me. I’ll bet you’ll be the first one to take a shot. I guarantee you’ll be the first one to take a shot, ‘cuz I’m gonna put those hands on you worse than that other dude did at Penn State.”
It’s obvious Rashad wanted to use the Penn State scandal as a jab to Davis, a former collegiate wrestler at the University. During his time at Penn State Davis had a 116-17 wrestling record and won a NCAA Division I title in 2008.
The question is, does the comment work to get to Davis’ head or will it just lead to more people booing Rashad at his next fight?
