TUF 10 Kimbo vs. Nelson Shatters Ratings Record With 6.1 Million Viewers

The Ultimate Fighter reality show, blew away all previous viewership records on Wednesday night when Kimbo Slice and Roy Nelson entered the Octagon for the first time on TUF 10.

At its peak, 6.1 million viewers tuned in to watch Roy Nelson do the bare minimum to advance to the semi-finals of the hit SpikeTV reality series. The episode broke the previous record of 5.3 million, held by the TUF 10 premiere episode.

Wednesday nights show, claimed the top spot as the most watched original series episode in SpikeTV history.

Dana White comments on the historic ratings

“These numbers are beyond huge. I’m blown away. I honestly am blown away. I knew it was going to be big. This is massive. Do you understand how significant these numbers are, getting more viewers than CBS?…It’s hard to say why, but some people have it and some don’t, and Kimbo definitely does.”

Kimbo vs Nelson fight was terrible. Nelson is a fat punk that laid on a guy's face a played patty cake on his head. Kimbo's ground skills are beyond aweful. Please Dana don't make us watch either of them fight again, and don't bring Kimbo back!

i'm not suprised at the ratings. i think they did a good job of suckering us to think we were going to see a good fight.

For someone not being a real Kimbo fan he is starting to grow on me a bit, i was impressed with his takedown defense and his striking and although he couldnt get out from under Nelson he tried a few times but come on i dont think many could get out from underneath that BELLY…Nelson didnt impress me one bit but he did enough to win the fight and stay away from the standup which was his game plan and he is there to win.

I agree with Dana, Kimbo just needs to stay focused and train and absorb and develop his skills and you never know he may be fighting on the show again but i know for sure Dana said win or lose Kimbo is fighting in December Finale.

Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira to get a HW title shot against the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin. The fight will take place in late spring or summer of 2010.

too bad that episode nearly broke the camel's back for me, i'm an ass hair away from not watching the rest of the season. the fights have been terrible, the "trash-talking" between rashad and rampage is tired and the "plot twists" are a joke.

yet to see a single fighter that has looked remotely good. hoping some of the rest will bring it.

I'm sure TUF will miss your viewership, yaya. hahaha. highest rated season ever, and you're threat to walk will surely have an impact. lol

ha ha, for all the dana nuthuggers and kimbo bashers look how no matter how bad kimbo is dana will praise him and have him in the ufc. how the tables turn once kimbo is with him. i will kepp watching see how it goes but this isn't tuf this is the kimbo show he gets all the spot light all the advertizing the other guys might as well forget it. they only show other people if they are TALKING TO KIMBO OR TALKING ABOUT KIMBO.i can't blame roy for being carefull with kimbo he has to fight 3 times in 12 weeks and can't afford to take punishment to amuse the fans. he said what he would do to kimbo before the fight and thats exactly what he did what more do you want?

I like the season 10. Im a heavyweight too so its nice to see the big dudes. Not too much talent yet i have to admit. But worst of all in my opinion is Roy. He was doing nothing to impress me in the kimbo fight. And if it wasnt for his doughy ass kimbo would have more chance of getting to his feet. But hey who can benchpress 264lbs of dough? It sticks to you. no matter what end you lift off the flacid skin and fat is still in your face.

And those punches? come on… like slaps

keep watching, if you all hate nelson so much don't bother cause he is going to win it. as shitty as you may think he looked and he still looked better than any fighter so far by a long shot.

i seriosuly dont get what you all thought was going to happen in that fight? Roy nelson dominated frank mir at grapplers quest, was beating arlovski until the ref stood it up when he had side control, and was the IFL heavyweight champion. It's not even fair that he's on that show what did u think kimbo was gunna do off his back? Gogoplata nelson? im surprised kimbo did so well on the feet and almost wall walked his way out from under nelson. granted he should have been thrusting and hipping a lot harder than just lying there but kimbo has no chance as long as ground fighters like that first wrestler in the first fight and nelson are around.

arloski couldn't get up from underneath fatboy nelson either until the ref stood them up.

    I agree with dane's post.

this season sucks. I liked it better when they had little evil and bjpenn as the trainers.

I could not stand how Nelson acted liked he did something after he won that fight. The fight was horrible.

My 2yr old niece could have punched Kimbo in the face as hard as nelson was.

Nelson just gets you on the ground and gets that big old belly on you and then hits you in the face. Its like you are getting attacked by the blob.

Kimbo had him on standup..stunned him..not many can stand with Kimbo. Maybe his ground skills will pickup. Dont hate if you dont know what your talking about.

i dint like the fights that i saw on tuf 10 its become the kimbo slice show

i like kimbo slice and im a big fan but the other fighters

    must get more credit

i hate fuck face belly nelson damn fatass only put his belly in kimbo's face and hit him like a 12 yr old boy

kimbo was stupid to throw the knee

if i was him i take some more ditance hit him and step back and when nelson got him in the clinch he must make THE TAKEDOWN cuz nelson never thinks he gonna do that

than he can pump his bih hands on his face

im sure dana gonna give kimbo a other chance

im hope someone defeat big belly boy cuz

i hate see fat guys sitting on fighters and say im th next ultimate fighter

that fight was HORRIBLE, first time i have seen nelson fight and boy was I impressed (fart noise). Jesus don't let that fat fuck who is an insult to heavyweights everywhere win this goddamn thing.

kimbo just doesn't have the skills to handle someone like nelson. it takes a long time to learn a good ground game. it's funny how dana can flip his sides depending on where the money is. he was kimbos worst critic a year ago and now he's his biggest fan.

this season is weak and its alot like The junie brown season but instead its Kimbo season..

I think Nelson is the man to win the show and i have thought he was going to win seen i have heard he was on the show..

so Kimbo is fighting in Dec on the Rashed vs Jackson card. i know jackson isnt fighting i just cant remeber the UFC number for it..so i dont think he will make the finals or come back
