Its on, former UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture will take on Brandon “The Truth” Vera in the main event of UFC 105 on Nov. 14th from the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England.

The fight is expected to take place at light heavyweight (205 lbs.)

Couture (14-3) will be looking to rebound after his unanimous decision loss to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 102 “Couture vs Nogueira”.

Vera (16-10) also fought on the UFC 102 card, defeating Krzystzof Soszynski by unanimous decision. While Vera took the win in Portland, he once again proved his unwillingness to engage his opponents by staying back doing just enough to get the win.

This matchup makes complete sense, first you give the England show a much need main event. If Couture wins he will have defeated a top up and comer in the sport. If he loses, Vera will gain huge recognition for defeating a legend in the sport and propelling him higher in the UFC light heavyweight division.

If Couture looses here, its going to be a tough road to finish out his contract with the UFC. Not to say that Vera is a bad fighter and a win against Couture will help his carreer but Couture will now have been on the loosing end far to often.

Couture said he wanted interesting fights. This is about as uninteresting as they come to me. Sounds like UFC tossed him an easy one to get back to the winning side. If he loses he is done though.
