Hardy is a tough fighter that has a good chin and power but this is gonna be over in the first round. Not only is GSP a way better, more fighter, but this is not a good stylistic match-up for Hardy. His wrestling, takedown (offense and defense), and his BJJ are average to below average. I GSP taking him down and submitting in the first round.

The only way this fight will end in the 1st round is if Hardy lands a power shot that puts GSP out.

When was the last time you saw GSP finish a fight early? thats not his style, he likes to grind his opponents down until they break.

I am a huge Dan Hardy fan, i have followed his career over here in the UK and have been really impressed with his progression as a fighter. His BJJ is very underated. He is not at the same level as GSP but who is?

I see GSP winning by decision or corner stoppage late in the fight. But hopefully Hardy puts him in trouble at some point to prove he belongs at the top level.

Great point. Not one person suspected Matt Serra to win against GSP, especially by TKO. Maybe Dan Hardy will pull off a crafty submission.

Who really thought Hardy would beat Mike Swick? I was in the arena and almost everyone was really nervous for Hardy, Swick is no joke and everyone though he was gonna rip Dan's head off.

The great thing about MMA is anything can happen. And i really hope Dan does it. A British world champion is what we need to really legitimise this sport in England.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I like Hardy. I like his confidence and I agree that he is getting better and will continue to get better but he is to one dimensional. He is a bjj purple belt and I have not seen him take anyone down. His takedown defense has been OK but GSP takes eveyone down. This is not a good match-up (based on skills and strengths) for Hardy. Yes he upset Swick but having that, Swick is not that good neither…so that is not saying much.

Swick may not be that great, but he was the only man at 170 worthy of fighting for the title before Hardy beat him. This is a bad match-up for Hardy but anyone is a bad match-up for GSP.
