UFC 145: A Chuck Liddell Answer To Teammate Fighting Teammate

Chuck Liddell is out hitting the media ahead of the teammate vs. teammate light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans at UFC 145.

“If (a teammate) can beat me, they can beat me. It is what it is. They deserve to fight me then. I’m not going to hold back some guy that’s in my camp if he wants to fight me. That’s not my thing. It’s just a personal choice and a personal opinion, but I think eventually, hey you guys are going at it, then go out and have two beers together afterwards. Go out there and prove who’s best that day, and go out and be friends again.” [MMAHour]

Chuck no doubt has the right answer, but convincing fighters to punch their training partner in the face for career advancement is going to be a hard sell.

What do you think? Professional football players get traded all the time and have to face their former teammates on the field. You don’t see many of them making a big deal of the issue.

Ok chuck do you think jones and rashad will have a beer after their match? I don't think so. Rashad left the camp he thought he was betrayed so let the chips fall where they may. But in rashad's case he will be the one to fall.

Friends fight friends all the time in boxing always have so why not in MMA. Hell Gatti and Ward became friends from fighting eachother.
