Its done, Alistair Overeem is out and Frank Mir is in. The former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will replace Alistair Overeem against Junior Dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 146. Dana White made the announcement on twitter this evening.

Taking off to Atlanta!!!! May 26 is now Mir vs JDS for the HW title in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand.

Mir was set to take on Cain Velasquez on the main card at UFC 146. It is unclear at this time what the UFC plans are with Cain.

Overeem’s shot at the UFC heavyweight title was extinguished after he tested positive for a high T/E ratio. He will have his chance to plead his case at a NSAC hearing next week.

Why does Dana White always have to send a stupid ass message. He could have made this decision weeks ago instead of dragging it out. The Reems appeal is in just 3 days too.

Because the dictator rules all the realms of UFC and should have done this as soon as overeem failed the test

Dana is setting up Cain vs Reem if he makes it out of his appeal with a license. He does not want to risk another hvwyt champion failing a ped test like barnett and sylvia did. Very smart actually.

Mir was the logical choice to fight jds. But dana does need to put sunrise hospital in vegas on alert to be ready to repair broken bones. Cain has no opponent so who would be the most logical opponent foe him i am not sure if there will be a match with cain but lets see what the dicator comes up with.

i think mir will lose this fight but i personally give him a slim chance of winning and if he can take jds down a bit more of a chance.
and dont forget hes boxing and head movement against minitauro if it stays standing this will be key

Oh so the dictator has tweeted that cain will fight Big Foot silva i wonder why? seems a better choice would have been mark hunt but what do i know? i only am a true fan of mma and stay on top as much as possible. But mark will fight struve lets see how that works out.
