UFC 69 – Diego vs. Kos

diego sanchez vs. Koscheck

Finally we get to see TUF 4 Welterweight Champion Matt Serra fight UFC Champion Georges St. Pierre. Whether or not you think it’s going to be a good fight, you can’t argue that Serra has put in his blood and sweat to earn a title match. That’s what the last Ultimate Fighter was all about, giving a down-and-out or out of luck contender the chance of a lifetime. Lutter missed out on the opportunity, but I’ll be willing to be Serra will be ready to go by fight time.

The match that I’m anxious to see is the rematch of TUF 1 contenders, Diego Sanchez and Josh Koscheck. I knew it would happen, but I didn’t expect it so early. I thought Kos would have to take on a couple more fights to get to the top and Sanchez would get a match with former Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes. Proves to me two things, the power of trash talk on the part of Kos paid off and why have some of your biggest draws beat up on each other when you can make money on separate fights. Regardless, I think it will be a great fight by two of the hardest workers in the biz. The winner should be in contention for a title match following a St. Pierre/Hughes rematch.

As good as Kos has gotten, Diego has gotten better too. I think Diego will stomp Kos and pound him out.
