Its finally here, the UFC has scheduled the first fight for the former WWE star Brock Lesnar. Lesnar will be taking on former heavyweight champion Frank Mir at UFC 81, Superbowl weekend.

The former NCAA wrestling champion, professional football player and professional wrestler will be fighting for only the second time in his MMA career. His first fight was at K-1 Hero’s Dynamite show in June, winning the fight by TKO over Min Su Kim. The UFC is very confident in Lesners abilities, stacking him against former UFC champion Frank Mir.

“Lesnar is a great wrestler, a good athlete, and this is definitely gonna be a big test for him. Frank Mir is a former world champion who is coming off a big win over Antoni Hardonk, and he’s looking to get his career back on track while Lesnar’s looking to walk into the UFC and prove what type of fighter he’s gonna be by trying to knock him off.”

How stupid is this???? People like both fighters and the UFC is going to face them off. Stupid. I think Mir will submit Lesnar and there goes the next big thing.

I guess Lesnar gets the sink or swim approach. My money's on Mir.

Er,i think you're crazy. Money on Lesnar. If it goes past 30 seconds in the first round, Mir will be exhausted, and Lesnar will roll over him. Opinion is an opinion, ad in my honest opinion, i think Mir will get fed his lazyboy ass.

i think it will be a ok fight just because lesarn is strong and its hard to submit him but mir will win.

It all depends on Mirs conditioning and strength. His cardio has been aweful since he came back. But I can see Lesnar shooting and taking Mir down. While lesnar tries to advance for some ground and pound, Mirs going to grab an arm and take it home with him.

wow u actually think Mir is going to submit him? Lesnar isnt Tim Sylvia! He has good ground game. He wont get submitted by Mir. Mir isnt even that good on the ground. He recently lost a Submission match to Babalu 5-1. I see this fight ending via tko. Has anyone watched mirfight lately? Against anybody good he gets his ass kicked. U guys r crazy if u think Mir has a chance in hell. Unless lesnar hurts himself slamming mir he will win.

Lesnar is strong and fast, no way Mir submits him. Mir is a good commentator, he should just stick with that.

man, i like both fighters. mir is actually underrated. his snap of sylvia's arm was no luck. if anything, lesnar will probably use ground and pound to beat mir. mir has his leg kicks and submissions to beat lesnar. interesting fight. the funny thing is that they both are the same weight at 240 pounds!! and about the same height. mir is supposed to be 6'2 but i think he is more like between 6' and 6'1. lesnar looks to be a solid 6'2, but 6'3.

a good fight would be cro cop vs lesnar. cro cop needs to redeem himself after back to back losses. lesnar needs a lesson in MMA.

Lesnar is actually right at the max, 265. The guy could beef up to 300 easily but this isn't the WWE. With his work ethic and compeitiveness I wouldn't be suprised if Brock ends up being a good fighter. Lesnar vs. Kimbo is the fight I would have loved to see.

What I hear is that Mir is bulking up for this fight so we will see what he looks like in February.

Brock has no idea what he's in for. Its not like the WWE where the crown loves him, he is going to feel what its like to be a rookie on the big stage. Mir is one of the best Heavyweight jujitsu fighters in the world. Ur right, he wasnt in shape for some of his fights. But guess what, he's fighting in the biggest profile fight of his career, on the Superbowl UFC event…the guy is going to train his ass off. He is going to take Brock Lesnars steroid pumped arm home with him as a trophy…guaranteed.

    - Lesnar will attempt to stand and fight.

    – Mir will bring the fight to the ground. (or he'll lose)

    – Mir will go for a sub

    – Lesnar will counter by ripping Mir's arm off (possibly a leg) and proceed to beat Mir with it until the Ref. stops the fight.

    Lesnar wins in R1

I agree with KOPower, Lesnar is big and strong, but most people forget that Mir has some sick submission skills.

I'm going with Brock because I was a WWE fan when he was there and he is a Heavyweight freak. There aren't that many Heavyweight freaks out there other than Fedor, so I think Brock has a good chance.

If so, Mir will probably end the fight from his back.

The only way I see this fight ending is Lesnar winning in someway…or Mir locks on a crazy submission that only he can pull off

i feel this is a fight that mir should win, lesnar is a monster but no experience if mir can't beat him its because he is done and should not be fighting.
