he's unbeliavbly athletic, he hadnt played football since highschool and he still made the practice squad twice for the vikings…cant wait to see if he turns out to be the real deal or another scrub whos gonna get his ass beat

damn, he looks really strong. in the video, he throws that guy to the ground with ease. he also shows his striking ability; his stance looks a bit awkward, but he looks like he's packing tons of power behind those hands.

    January 7, 2008 at 12:42 pm

yeah hes a big dude, but hes moves unbelievbly quick and smooth and for lack of a less gayer word ha nimble on his feet. I have a good feeling about him but you never know until he gets into the octagon

if mir can't submit lesnar(strong but no mma experience) he should retire.

    January 8, 2008 at 2:47 am

I think Mir will sumbit Lesnar. We'll see.

all of you lesnar fans out there might be in for a reality check, granted he's strong and brings a class A wrestling game but so did kevin randelmen.

frank mir may not be a the top of his game but he is still going to be a hand full and from what i've seen from lesnar ie sub par stand up and no submission i would not be cracking the corks just yet.

Rob Emerson is fighting on this card…wtf hes a joke and him and like 10 rich fake gang bangers jumped 2 little kids…why the fuck is he in the UFC….They game him a easy fight… Mir is going to put up a great fight and i think this fight is 50/50 it can go to both..

    January 8, 2008 at 4:39 am

Yeah, what the hell is Emerson doing fighting in the UFC anymore. The only thing I can think of is that he signed a contract with them after TUF.

Lesnars job right now is to learn how to use his wrestling ability to stay out of a bad situation on the ground with Mir. His training for this fight is probably 10 percent submission and 90 percent defense and sweeps on the ground. I like Mir too, if he can train his ass off and come into the fight in shape and with more muscle, he should do well.

I give him credit, he was an outstanding wrestler and is hella strong. He's no joke. People look at his time in the WWE as a joke, but lets not forget the World most dangerous man started out as a pro-wrestler long before he fought in a cage.

I think Brock will do well in MMA….as long as he's training his jujitsu and escapes I think his power will pull through where his weakness may show.

dr beaker when did you worlds most dangerous man start in pro-wrestling i never saw that.

    January 8, 2008 at 9:10 am

…aight im gonna sound like a complete idiot but i know its a nickname but who is the worlds most dangerous man…i cant remember who that nicname belongs to…i know thats kind of pathetic lol

  16. dane drebin

    January 8, 2008 at 4:09 pm

ken shamcock is the worlds most dangerous man… but he didnt start in wreslting he went there after he was an ma fighter… but still i believe brock will win thats all im gunna say we will see soon

true. ken started off as a submissions guy. he didn't know jui jitsu until he got beat my royce gracie.

  18. JOE

    January 8, 2008 at 7:39 pm

He still doesn't know Jiu Jitsu. Most of Ken's submissions are derived from Catch Wrestling.

Anyway, after watching Lesnar's video and prior fight, I've come to the conclusion that he may get KO'd. Like I said, I guess we'll see.

Ken has stated in many interviews, most recently when he hosted Inside MMA on HDnet. He stated that "not many people know I started out as a pro-wrestler then moved into MMA". This was before his stint with the WWE. You guys know Tito was involved a little with pro-wrestling as a guest ref back in the late 90's.

I see Brock winning by shear power, you can't arm bar a guy if you can't get his arm to move…Brock is a monster.

  20. JOE

    January 9, 2008 at 7:14 pm

His arm alone isn't strong enough to power out of a tight armbar. Frank Mir isn't exactly tiny.

Brock is going to man handle Mir.

This fight will end in the first round.

what i would love to see is brock vs. tim sylvia. i would love to see tim get KTFOed. i hate that bastard so much.

  23. Dr Breaker

    January 14, 2008 at 1:44 am

Brock is training hard right now and we all knkow wrestlers do well in MMA. As long s brock has been working his submissions and defense he will do fine. Mir is no joke but his heart is suspect.

Brock and Tim would be a boring fight…I guess Tim and anyone is a boring fight. Tim could be the greatest fighter in the world but his style and movement make for a boring fight.

  24. dane drebin

    January 17, 2008 at 7:34 pm

i disagree joe… many people have stated brocks strength is other worldly… if tommy spear can rip out of an arm bar and win i think brock can aswell. i could see him picking up mir and powerbombing him if mir got him in a triangle too.

  25. dane drebin

    January 17, 2008 at 7:35 pm

i think tim vs brock wouldnt be boring at all… tim couldnt hold brock up against the cage it would be action packed brock would make sure of it

  26. JOE

    January 17, 2008 at 8:19 pm

Dane: I said his arm ALONE. Pulling out of an arm bar is different than not getting someone's arm to "move." No one is that strong. If someone has proper technique and position with a deep arm bar, the other person isn't going to do a bicep curl out of it. That's ridiculous. It is possible to pull out of an ATTEMPTED arm bar before you reach the point where it's just too late. If Mir get's Lesnar to that point he will NOT be able to curl his arm out of it. His one arm isn't stronger than both of Mir's arms, legs, and back. Disagree if you want, but talk to anyone else who trains submissions, they'll probably tell you the same. I can also see Lesnar power bombing Mir. He certainly does have tremendous strength, but he better use it wisely, because if Mir comes ready and in shape, size and strength will be Lesnar's only saving grace.

    January 17, 2008 at 11:49 pm

You know Mir is coming in shape…this is his comeback fight (although not against a proven fighter he will get a lot of buzz with a win). I don't see anyone pulling out of an armbar no batter how storng they are…And your right Joe, Lesnar's strength counts for absolutely nothing if he doesn't use it correctly, he can't go in there thinking he can simply overpower Mir for 3 rounds, he has to pick and choose the times and spots he will use his strength to possibly impose hiw will on Mir…hope Lesnar wins, it would be cool if he turned out to be the real deal

  28. medickris

    January 20, 2008 at 8:18 am

If someone is trying to curl out of an arm bar instead of colapsing on the guy their stupid anyway.

  29. dane drebin

    January 20, 2008 at 9:12 am

i guess we will find out soon enough

sometimes technique jsut isnt everything… i think mir was a really big fish when the ufc was just a pound. the ufc is turning into an ocean and brocks a shark. u cant teach what brock has. you can train the fish for 12 years like mir has but he's still jsut a big fish imo compared to brock

I think Brock is one of the best MMA fighters to ad merge into the MMA world. Dana White Please get a fight with Fedor and Brock happening so we can show the world that Brock can and will run thought that fagot Fedor. The only reason I can see Fedor not wanting to fight brock is cause he dont want anyone to se him get beat by a former WWE superstar because that would only mean everyone that Fedor beat Brock could and would beat in a devastation fashion. Please Dana White get them to fight so everyone can see Brock is the worlds best MMA fighter.
