According to MMAMainia, former UFC Middleweight Champion, Evan Tanner will make his UFC return at UFC 82 in Columbus Ohio. No opponent has been named, but rumors of him possibly fighting Michael Bisping.

The 37 year old fighter will step back into the cage after a two year layoff from fighting. Tanner has been going through some hard times recently, having problems with his foundation for misguided fighters and battling alcoholism. Tanner has apparently signed a four fight deal to fight in the UFC.

Tanners last fight was in April of 2006 at UFC 59 in which he defeated Justin Levens by submission in the first round. Evan Tanner will be a needed boost of experience for the UFC middleweight division. Weather he wins or loses we can always count on Evan Tanner bring it and putting on an entertaining show for the fans.

Same thing here, that would be a great fight and I know both fighters will bring it. I see good things for Bisping in MW, he has already hung with some pretty good LHW's. Yeah, I still think Rashad and Hamill will be some pretty good LHW's in the future.

i'm glad that tanner is winning the battle against alcoholism. there is a little bit on him at wiki. i don't think he's any match up for anderson silva. what i don't like about bisping is that he never admitted loss even when he really did lose to hammill. he was just an arrogant prick and never even acknowledged that it was close. he was lucky that fight was in his homeland of britain.

i think bisping was a big fighter in the small mma pond of britain. now he has to go up against USA, Brazil, Japan….where mma competition is harder. i don't think he can hang with the top fighters in any of those two divisions.

i actually think tanner would win against bisping if he's the same tanner who knows tho at 37… alls i know is bisping has the worst problem with people like evan, a guy with sick ground and pound… i like him a lot more than bisping and i hope he does great in his comeback ive really missed seeing him fight… i hated bisping for how he reacted after the hamill fight but he did a lot better against rashad than i thought he would so it made me gain more respect for him

if tanner were paid in beer cans rather than money, i guarantee if he would be middleweight champion by next year.

It will be a good fight if bisping is the choice. But with bisping training with juanito and among rampage, vera, and kongo he is learning new things and improving every aspect of mma, My fear is tanner will be out of shape and have 'ring rust' if thats the case bisping will win, But i hope we see the old evan tanner and it will be 1 hell of a fight

I'm not expecting to see a stellar Tanner, but if the old Tanner shows up, goodnight Bisping.

i really just hope there is no ring rush also, cuz if not i do thing this would be a baller fight because tanner is well round and so is micheal and i think this would be a great fight
